Project Manager, ICI Building Construction

Description

You are an aspiring Project Manager with over 8 years of experience working in multi-disciplinary commercial construction projects. As an integral part of the project team, you will be responsible for planning, organizing, and executing project strategies in collaboration with the Senior Project Manager for an exciting design-build healthcare project. You will support the operations team in maintaining safety and quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Essential Responsibilities

1. Demonstrates leadership in health, safety, and environmental protection on the project
2. Applies the requirements of the Project Specific Safety Program (PSSP) to promote overall compliance with Ledcor HS&E standards, applicable OH&S Acts, regulations, and codes with all employees and subcontractors on the project
3. Creates and facilitates the Project Quality Program to ensure project materials are supplied and work is completed accordingly
4. Ensures that projects are built according to approved plans, specifications, shop drawings, and applicable building codes and that quality standards are maintained
5. Develops and maintains the construction schedule in conjunction with the project team to meet milestones and completion dates
6. Leads project meetings with internal and external stakeholders to monitor and support the project’s ongoing progression
7. Provides strong leadership to construction team members, leveraging individual and group strengths to ensure project targets are achieved
8. Identifies and manages opportunities and risks to optimize schedule and financial outcomes
9. Maintains, tracks, and reports all financial aspects of the project including forecasts and billings
10. Manages procurement processes, including negotiations and awards for subcontractors, trades, and suppliers

Qualifications

1. 8+ years of related work experience or a relevant combination of education and experience
2. Experience managing full-cycle new build construction; design-build and healthcare construction experience preferred, with knowledge of scopes like walls, ceilings, DFH (doors, frames, hardware), and elevators
3. Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or related discipline is an asset
4. Working knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current practices and methodologies
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to address stakeholder needs
6. Ability to identify issues and generate solutions in moderately complex situations
7. Strong computer skills with aptitude for learning new programs; familiarity with scheduling software

Work Conditions

1. Site-based position in Vancouver, BC
2. Valid driver’s license and clean abstract
3. Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Compensation

$93,600 - $128,700 annually

This base pay range will be adjusted based on experience, knowledge, skills, education, and location.
