Project Manager – Virtual Care / Healthcare Applications
Start Date: ASAP
Duration: ASAP to December 2026; with extension to 2027
Location: Brampton / Mississauga / North York; 1-2 days preferred with flexibility; will likely need to occasionally travel to Mississauga to meet with stakeholders
About the Role
Our client, a division of Canada's largest retailer, is launching a dedicated Virtual Care pod and is seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead complex healthcare application development and platform initiatives.
This is an opportunity to join a growing program that is expanding beyond its initial virtual care use cases. The team is currently supporting virtual consultations with Nurse Practitioners, including diabetes and Ozempic-related care, and is preparing to expand into additional clinical use cases such as menopause, erectile dysfunction (ED), and other virtual care services.
The successful candidate will play a key role in building and evolving the applications and platforms that support these experiences. This is not simply an implementation role — we are looking for someone who has hands‑on experience managing the development and delivery of applications, working through business and technical requirements, and delivering new functionality through agile development cycles.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex healthcare application development projects from requirements through delivery and implementation.
- Manage a dedicated Virtual Care workstream/pod while collaborating closely with broader enterprise programs.
- Partner with clinical, business, product, technology, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable delivery plans.
- Drive application development through Agile/Sprint-based delivery, coordinating incremental releases and new functionality.
- Manage scope, timelines, dependencies, risks, issues, resources, and stakeholder communications across large-scale initiatives.
- Navigate frequent changes in requirements and priorities while maintaining alignment across large stakeholder groups.
- Coordinate application integrations and platform dependencies, including potential Salesforce integrations.
- Work closely with technical teams and developers throughout application build and feature delivery.
- Support the evolution of the Virtual Care platform as new clinical use cases are introduced.
- Use tools such as Jira and Confluence to support project planning, documentation, backlog management, and delivery.
- Contribute to broader program-level planning and ensure dependencies are managed across related initiatives.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 6+ years of Project Management experience, managing large, complex initiatives.
- Demonstrated experience leading healthcare application development projects, where applications were built, enhanced, or significantly changed — not solely implementing existing off‑the-shelf solutions.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, ability to manage evolving priorities in a fast‑paced, demanding environment.
- Experience with Jira and Confluence.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Salesforce applications and/or Salesforce integrations.
- Experience leading projects involving virtual care platforms, digital health, telehealth, or patient‑facing healthcare application.
