Job summary

Trane Technologies' Edmonton team is hiring an Equipment Project Manager to oversee HVAC equipment projects, including scope, schedule and budget.

In this role you will plan and analyze projects, set schedules, manage costs, and coordinate with building owners, mechanical contractors, and field staff.

Applicants should have 2–4 years of project management or related HVAC experience, strong communication and problem-solving, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

  • Associate's Degree in business or equivalent; 2+ years PM/equipment/HVAC experience, or 4+ years PM experience.
  • Practical experience prioritized for non-degree applicants.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and ability to work independently or in a team.
  • Valid driver's license with clean record (12 months).

Responsibilities

  • Plan and analyze assigned projects, set schedules and parameters.
  • Communicate with customers, building owners, contractors and field staff.
  • Compare ship dates with project schedules and ensure ordering processes.
  • Maintain forecasted cost at completion and monitor expenses.
  • Create and revise project schedules with tasks and milestones.
  • Enter equipment orders, issue purchases, and generate start-up work orders.
  • Manage project cash-flow: billing, collections, and resources.

What's in it for you:

Trane in Edmonton, AB is hiring an Equipment Project Manager to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of HVAC equipment projects and accountable for assigned projects' scope of work, schedule, and budget.

What you will do:
  • Plans and analyzes assigned projects, establishes schedules and project parameters and sets procedures to accomplish system objectives, involving complex equipment applications.
  • Communicates with customers and their representatives, including building owners, mechanical contractors, other trades, subcontractors, and field support staff.Maintains customer satisfaction by investigating concerns, implementing corrective action, and communicating with customers and assigned staff.
  • Compares estimated ship dates with contractor's project schedule and ensures compliance with internal equipment ordering processes.
  • Responsible for maintaining the accuracy of the forecasted cost at completion and controls expenses by monitoring assigned project budget.
  • Creates and makes revisions to project schedules including generating tasks, estimates, dependencies, and milestones.
  • Responsible for entering equipment orders, issuing purchase, and generating work orders for equipment start-ups
  • Responsible for project cash-flow management: progress billing, collections support and monitoring, and resource management.
What you will bring:
  • Associate's Degree in business or equivalent with a minimum of two (2) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; OR a minimum of four (4) years of project management, equipment, HVAC or related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Candidates without a 4-year degree are encouraged to apply; we prioritize practical experience, relevant skills, and alignment with our leadership principles.
  • Familiarity with HVAC systems and temperature equipment preferred.
  • Strong, demonstrated customer service and problem solving skills
  • Strong communication skills, proactive approach with willingness to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Proven experience prioritizing tasks in order to meet tight deadlines within a high paced environment with attention to detail.
  • Driver License, Valid and in state for a minimum of 12 months, with no major or frequent traffic violations included, but not limited to: DUI, Hit & Run, License Suspension, Reckless/Careless Driving or multiple smaller infractions or preventable collisions in the previous 3 years.
Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$72,900.00 - $104,300.00
