Capital Planning Project Manager in St. John’s

Dovre Groups is pleased to present the following contract opportunity:

Our client within the utilities sector is seeking a Capital Planning Project Manager to assist in the management or deliverables related to capital work outside of the regular capital budget framework. This will include developing and maintaining databases, master lists, and schedules, and facilitating reviews and meetings. This person will also interface with those completing deliverables to ensure they are on target, providing support and guidance as required. Other key deliverables will include preparing regular status reports for management and executive, analysis of performance metrics to determine areas for improvement, and developing processes and procedures.

Function
  • Developing project trackers, monitoring and managing progress and providing progress updates on filings, as required.
  • Support on the submission and approval of documentation including FEED Alignment Documents (FADs), Basis of Estimates (BOEs), and project proposals.
  • Identifying and management of schedule risks.
  • Management of the overall master lists and change management.
  • Work with various stakeholders, including Regulatory Affairs, Engineering Services, Business Development, Transmission Planning, and Long-Term Asset Planning, in developing execution strategies.
  • Provide support to Management.
  • Managing, tracking and facilitating the approval of all new support requests. This includes reviewing requests and recommending appropriate action.
Requirements
  • A university degree in Engineering or technical Project Management or related field with a minimum of 5 years’ experience.
  • The ability to consider differing points of view.
  • The ability to multitask.
  • Experience dealing with customers internally and externally.
  • A background in regulatory strategy and process is considered an asset.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to foster effective working relationships with members of various teams.
  • Excellent analytical skills and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience with MS SharePoint.
