Job summary

Bird Construction is seeking a Project Manager - Buildings East to lead total project delivery in the Atlantic region from Bedford, Nova Scotia. You will oversee safety, schedule, budget, and quality with the project team and subcontractors.

You will plan, monitor, and drive performance, manage prime and subcontracts, analyze costs, and report to Senior Management. Strong leadership, construction experience, and proficiency with MS Project and Viewpoint are required.

Qualifications

  • Completed education in a construction-related discipline.
  • Experience in General Contracting; direct project management or project coordination of industrial projects.
  • Engineering background is an asset.
  • Strong leadership, project management and problem-solving skills to support a collaborative approach.
  • Ability to read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedule.
  • Proficiency with MS Office; MS Project; Viewpoint PM experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide safety leadership through Bird Safety Program and monitor safety performance of project team and subcontractors.
  • Plan, schedule, set objectives and control activities during construction with the Project Superintendent and team.
  • Supervise and develop project team members; conduct regular feedback and performance evaluations.
  • Administer and manage prime contracts and subcontracts; negotiate and award subcontracts; review subcontractor performance.
  • Review and analyze costs and identify revenue opportunities.
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly reports on financial and overall project performance to Senior Management.
  • Foster and maintain positive relations with clients, consultants, architects and subcontractors.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Project Manager - Buildings EastReporting to the Regional Director - Atlantic, the Project Manager - Buildings East will be responsible for total project delivery of planning, execution and monitoring to ensure compliance with safety, quality, budget and schedule.What You Will Be Working OnP,,rovide safety leadership through implementation of Bird Safety Program and monitoring of safety performance of project team and subcontractors.Planning, scheduling, setting objectives and controlling activities during the construction phase of a project(s) in conjunction with the Project Superintendent and Project Team.Supervision and development of project team members through regular feedback, training and coaching; timely completion of performance evaluations.
