Job description

On behalf of our Education client, Procom is searching for a Project Manager for a 10-month role. This position is remote with regular collaboration with teams in Swift Current, Saskatchewan.

Job Description

The project involves the implementation of a new cloud-based Student Information System (SIS) called Thesis Elements, replacing the existing OCSM system. This initiative is part of a collaborative effort across Saskatchewan Regional Colleges and Dumont Technical Institute, starting with Great Plains College.

Responsibilities
  • Represent the client at key meetings such as Project Manager meetings, Steering Committee meetings, and Vendor workshops.
  • Act as the primary contact for Thesis Elements and the implementation vendor.
  • Ensure accountability to the Statement of Work, maintaining project schedules and reporting on status, expenditures, and risks.
  • Identify resource shortfalls and prepare recommendations.
  • Work with Ministry Project Sponsor / Manager to ensure vendor deliverables and manage Change Order Processes.
  • Provide guidance to local college project teams and support the collection of business processes.
  • Oversee data-related activities and coordinate SIS configuration tasks.
Mandatory Skills
  • Demonstrated experience in leading large-scale technology implementations.
  • Strong experience in managing multi-stakeholder projects.
  • Proven ability in vendor management and negotiation.
  • Risk, issue, and dependency management experience.
  • Effective communication with executive stakeholders and technical teams.
  • Coordination of cross-functional and geographically dispersed teams.
Nice-to-Have Skills
  • Knowledge of the Saskatchewan post-secondary / college sector.
  • Experience with public sector or education technology projects.
  • Project management credentials such as PMP or PRINCE2.

This is a 10-month contract position.
