Job summary

A project management consultancy in Canada is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the execution of health-related projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for guiding projects to completion, managing stakeholder relations, and ensuring effective communication across teams. A Bachelor's degree and at least five years of project management experience are required. Strong Agile expertise and familiarity with the health care environment are preferred.

Job description
Responsibilities

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with project sponsors, project team members, and other internal and external stakeholders (including NLHS executive, provincial government, patient advisory committees, and professional associations, boards and colleges).

Provide direction, coordination, implementation, execution, and completion of projects, while remaining aligned with strategy, commitments, and goals of the organization and various stakeholder groups.

Develop, manage, and report on schedules, costs, resources, risks, and project objectives at various levels of the organization, including project governance tables.

Lead project teams to meet objectives and stakeholders’ expectations providing direction and clear communication of the vision for project success.

Develop and execute risk management and mitigation plans.

Balance competing goals of project stakeholders to achieve consensus on project outcomes while maximizing business value of the project.

Collaborate with stakeholders throughout the province to ensure successful adoption in addition to a successful transition to operations.

Collaborate with and ensure coordination between other Project Managers and their teams on the CorCare project to ensure that all appropriate teams are aware of the issues affecting external clinicians and working towards solutions.

Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree in a Business, Health, IT or related field.

Change Management certification considered an asset.

Minimum of five years’ experience in direct Project Management supplemented with demonstrated experience in, but not limited to:

  • Agile project development and execution
  • Leading large-scale projects and teams
  • Change management and stakeholder management
  • Experience in digital health related projects is preferred.
  • Knowledge and experience in a health care environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of project management principles, standards, and processes.

Strong knowledge of principles of change management.

Demonstrate ability to manage a diverse stakeholder group in a challenging and sensitive project environment.

Proactively anticipate and manage changes in project scope.

In-depth knowledge of both traditional and agile project management tools, techniques, and methods.

Superior facilitation and interpersonal skills (written and oral communications).

Demonstrated ability to lead project teams in a matrix environment and engage diverse groups of stakeholders.

Strong awareness of privacy and confidentiality.

Knowledge and experience in Quality Assurance and testing methodologies.

Proficiency in project management software tools.

Self-motivated and possess excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong analytic and decision-making abilities.

Knowledge of provincial health care environment.

Demonstrate good judgment and an ability to build consensus among groups with differing priorities.

Demonstrate leadership, influence, communication, presentation, and facilitation skills while balancing multiple initiatives.
