Job summary

CGL in Ontario is seeking a Project Manager to lead multiple projects with agile teams, Scrum Masters and cross-functional groups. You will apply project management methodologies, manage scope, schedule, risks, and ensure delivery of benefits and client satisfaction.

You will bring 3-5 years of progressive project management experience, a degree in Business or related field, and preferably PMP certification. Insurance industry experience is considered an asset in this unstructured environment.

  • Post-secondary degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • PMP designation or actively pursuing this designation.
  • Successful project life cycle experience with strong knowledge of project management and systems development.
  • Prior Insurance industry experience an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Apply project management methodologies and disciplines to assigned projects, including project charter, scope, schedule, status reports and post implementation review.
  • Actively manage project activities, including scope development, risks and assumptions, and resolve conflicting priorities with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Chair meetings within the project structure and manage the project backlog and prioritization process.
  • Facilitate scope development with stakeholders.
  • Ensure successful delivery of the key deliverables, taking corrective action as required and partner with the change management practitioners.
  • Actively manage the plan, scope, risk, quality and resources, resolve conflicting priorities with program stakeholders and manage risks/assumptions.
  • Build a positive and motivating project team environment. Provide input to project team members performance reviews.
  • Integrate change management activities such as communication and training into project plans.
  • Anticipate and manage project issues. Communicate the impact of these issues and facilitate solutions.
  • Adapt to changing priorities and ensure resources are applied appropriately to ensure project success.

As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing multiple projects and subsets of projects of varying priority. Working alongside multiple project managers, Scrum Masters and multi-disciplinary teams, you are expected to apply project management methodologies, skill, disciplines to the assigned projects and ensure management of all project tasks and achieve the stated objectives. You will be responsible to ensure agile values and principles are followed and will enable collaboration across all roles and functions. You will proactively deliver projects and enable our strategy and build strong partnerships with stakeholders to deliver project benefits, meet business objectives, and exceed client expectations.

To Join Our Team

  • 3-5 years of progressive project management experience
  • You have a post-secondary degree in Business or a related discipline.
  • You have a track record for successful project execution.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) designation or actively working on acquiring this designation.
  • Successful project life cycle experience with strong knowledge of project management and systems development.
  • Ability to switch between initiatives and understand impacts is a key role in ensuring work progresses at pace in, what at times can be, an unstructured environment.
  • Prior Insurance industry experience an asset.

Salary information

“Expected salary/hourly range $72,847 - $121,411” (min-max, full range)

Salary placement

“The salary amount for the successful candidate is determined by Co-operators in its discretion and will vary depending on several criteria including but not limited to: local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualification, experience and education.”

“Employees may also have the opportunity to participate in incentive programs and earn additional compensation tied to individual and/or business performance, or other business metrics.”
