Senior Project Manager – EPC & Nuclear Infrastructure
Location : Bowmanville, ON (100% Onsite)
Overview
We are seeking experienced Project Leaders to manage large-scale Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects at the Darlington site. This position will lead projects through all phases – from initiation and planning to execution, commissioning, and closeout – ensuring adherence to budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide full lifecycle project management for assigned EPC projects, from concept to completion.
- Develop and manage project budgets, schedules, and forecasts to ensure alignment with corporate objectives.
- Administer EPC contracts, including review and approval of vendor invoices, tracking purchase orders, and managing change orders.
- Lead risk management activities, maintain project risk registers, and implement mitigation strategies.
- Act as the primary liaison between Ontario Power Generation (OPG) and vendor stakeholders to ensure alignment and accountability.
- Oversee and support field execution teams, fulfilling Field Team Lead (FTL) and Modification Team Lead (MTL) responsibilities as required.
- Develop and present business cases to secure project funding and resources.
- Ensure strict compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements.
- Provide leadership, mentorship, and technical guidance to junior staff and project team members.
- Support the Section Manager with reporting, resource planning, and administrative functions.
Qualifications
- Minimum 10 years of progressive project management experience in large-scale industrial, infrastructure, or energy projects.
- Strong background in installation, commissioning, cost control, and schedule management for EPC projects.
- Proven experience managing electrical systems and components; familiarity with major manufacturers’ equipment preferred.
- Skilled in developing estimates, execution plans, contracting strategies, and forecasts.
- Demonstrated experience with risk management, field execution, and stakeholder engagement.
- Familiarity with ECC processes and work planning systems considered an asset.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills with the ability to influence diverse teams.
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) designation or equivalent preferred.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification strongly preferred.
