JOB OVERVIEW

Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic, strategic and results‑driven professional to join our team in the role of Project Leader. Reporting to the Senior Manager Projects, this position is responsible for overseeing multidisciplinary projects from initiation to closeout. The Project Leader will manage project teams, ensure compliance with project management and contract governance, and deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Lead, organize, and administer all phases of assigned projects, ensuring adherence to project management and contract management standards.
  • Manage cross‑functional project execution teams, coordinate project documentation, and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.
  • Oversee project planning, scope, scheduling, budgeting, risk management, and change control throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present project reports, business cases, and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Coordinate procurement activities, including preparation of specifications, bid packages, and vendor management.
  • Monitor and report on project performance, address variances, and implement corrective actions as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
  • Support the development and implementation of new project management processes and best practices.
  • Supervise and mentor project team members as required.
  • Perform site visits and liaise with internal and external partners to ensure project objectives are met.

  • 4 years of Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, project management, or a related field; PMP is an asset.

  • Strong knowledge of project management principles, contract management, cost estimating, scheduling and regulatory compliance.
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects with multiple contracts and stakeholders.

  • Proficiency with project management and business software applications.
