Job summary

TC Energy is seeking a Project Field Work Planner for Canada Gas Operations to manage project work plans and resource availability. The role collaborates with Project Managers, Portfolio Optimization, Commercial Operations, and Field Operations to align with priorities and schedules.

The position supports planning, scheduling, and reporting through the Project Planning System. The ideal candidate brings 8+ years of planning experience, strong communication skills, and proficiency with SAP and MS

Qualifications

• Technical school graduation or associate degree in engineering technology.
• 8+ years of related experience in project planning, scheduling or technical support roles.
• Working knowledge and expertise with CMMS systems for work planning, specifically SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Access, and PowerPoint.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with Field Teams and Area Leadership.
• Ability to coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources as needed.
• Ability and initiative to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

• Coordinate with operational resources to define project durations, resource needs, and commercial impacts.
• Review projected work hour requirements and align hours with project scope.
• Collaborate with commercial stakeholders for project outages.
• Communicate scheduling conflicts when resource availability is constrained.
• Monitor execution of project work and identify changes impacting future projects.
• Track timely project work order completion as reported by project teams.
• Perform data collection, trend analysis and reporting on program plan effectiveness.
• Support work bundling and resource availability planning with commercial and operational teams.
• Maintain project details in the Project Planning System for dashboard reporting.

The Opportunity

Our Canada Gas Maintenance Program & Planning team is evolving to meet the needs of our growing business. TC Energy is seeking a Project Field Work Planner with excellent verbal and written communication skills to maintain resource planning details for Canada Gas Operations Projects. This role supports the development, planning, optimizing and management of project work plans that align with operational and commercial priorities. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with Project Managers, Portfolio Optimization, Commercial Operations, and Field Operations to support the implementation of all projects along Canada Gas Assets. The Project Field Work Planner would handoff to the Regional Maintenance Program Managers (MPMs) and Regional Field Work Planners (FWPs) for the regional resources to be planned and scheduled based on the specific scope of work.

What you'll do

• Compile, manage, and report on all approved projects, operational resource availability, timing assumptions and allowances
• Coordinate with operational resources to define project durations, resource needs, and commercial impacts.
• Review projected work hour requirements and work with operations and field FWP personnel to assure proper hours are associated with each project
• Work with commercial stakeholders for project outages
• Communicate scheduling conflicts of project work when operational resource availability is constrained
• Monitor execution of project work through regular meetings to identify possible changes and impacts to future projects
• Monitor timely project work order completion as communicated by the project teams
• Perform data collection, trend analysis and reporting on program plan effectiveness
• Support work bundling and resource availability planning with commercial and operational teams.
• Maintain project details in the Project Planning System for dashboard reporting.
• Other tasks as required

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical school graduation or associate degree in engineering technology
• 8+ years of related experience in project planning, scheduling or technical support roles
• Working knowledge and expertise with CMMS systems for work planning and information retrieval, specifically SAP.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, MS Access, and PowerPoint
• Superior organizational, analytical skills, and time management skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate with Field Teams and Area Leadership
• Ability to coordinate work with other appropriate technical resources as needed
• Ability and initiative to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrated ability to manage shifting priorities and multiple concurrent projects
• Experience in work planning and scheduling within pipeline or facilities engineering environments
• Familiarity with metrics tracking and continuous improvement methodologies
• Familiar with project management practices
• Understanding of organization change management
• Experience with Power Apps, power automate, Power Bi, and access

This position requires candidates to:

• Travel occasionally to other company locations, which may include air travel and overnight stays
