What will you be doing!
  1. Developing and preparing technical specifications and work scopes.
  2. Assisting in the selection of design/construction participants and the award of contracts.
  3. Participating in leading engineering surveillance activities and assessing the design in progress, including the review of key design documents to verify that design requirements are met.
  4. Ensuring adequate independent (third-party) technical review of the design.
  5. Participating in preparing submissions of key technical and safety-related documents to the Delegate Design - Authority for the Chief Nuclear Engineer for review.
  6. Facilitating the transfer of specialized design knowledge to Canadian Nuclear Laboratories (CNL).
  7. Assessing equipment options and making recommendations.
  8. Assisting the Project Lead and Project Control Representative in developing project work packages, including deliverables, budgets and schedules.
  9. Participating in the preparation of technical documents, work scopes and engineering surveillance plans, performing surveillance of design, construction and commissioning activities of suppliers, including participants.
  10. Identifying, assessing, and initiating changes in accordance with the project scope statement and project change control.
  11. Interfacing with design participants, operations engineers, technical staff and nuclear operators to provide technical support during all phases of the project, as required to meet project objectives.
  12. Other duties as assigned by your manager.
What we are looking for:
  • Education
    • Bachelor (Honours) in Engineering, with a preference for Mechanical or Electrical, from a recognized university or membership in an authorized engineering/scientific organization.
  • Experience
    • Generally, less than 2 years’ experience.
    • Work experience is preferred and considered an asset.
    • Eligible for PEO Professional designation or able to start the process.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Good interpersonal, oral, and technical writing skills.
    • General computer literacy.
  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), with a minimum of 3-5 years verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the US, or the UK.
