AtkinsRéalis is seeking an Project Engineering Manager - Retube Tooling in Canada to lead a multi-disciplinary team on major refurbishment projects, ensuring design and technical activities align with industry standards and governance. The role involves delivering tooling and construction delivery refurbishment tools in a site project environment.

The ideal candidate will manage resources, oversee training and qualifications, and ensure deliverables meet client specs and nuclear codes.

• Manages the size and composition of the team resources and reporting structures to support project needs.
• Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed on time.
• Provides clear expectations and performance feedback, recognizes achievements, and takes disciplinary steps when warranted.
• Accountable for performance review processes and provides feedback on staff performance.
• Responsible for human resource issues and resolving employee issues.
• Ensures final deliverables meet customer requirements, contract specs, and nuclear codes and standards.
• Approves technical documents prepared by staff.
• Plans and executes work in line with quality, cost, and schedule requirements.
• Removes barriers to meet project requirements and optimizes solutions.
• Fosters a collaborative team environment with internal and external customers.
• Interfaces with clients to deliver engineering products per specifications.
• Establishes the technical approach to meet project requirements.

Overview

Reporting functionally to the Director of Retube Tooling, the Project Engineering Manager -Retube Tooling would support one of the major Refurbishment projects and work daily under the established project organization. The Project Engineering Manager will support the execution of design and technical activities in a site project delivery environment in accordance with industry standards and established governance and will be responsible for assigned aspects of site related tooling, and construction delivery refurbishment tools. This leader will be responsible for a multidiscipline team of Retube Tooling individuals executing commercial and internal work packages and projects.

Your role

• Manages the size and composition of the team resources, including reporting structures, in support of the project needs.
• Ensures all project training and qualifications records are up-to-date, and required training and qualifications are completed/updated on time.
• Provides clear expectations and performance measures, meaningful feedback, recognizes and rewards achievements, and takes disciplinary steps when warranted.
• Accountable for performance review processes and provides feedback on the performance of staff reporting to this role.
• Responsible for human resource issues and effectively managing and resolving employee issues.
• Ensures that the final deliverables from their team meet customer requirements specified in the contract and overall alignment with nuclear codes and standards.
• Approves technical documents prepared by staff reporting to them.
• Plans and executes work consistent with quality, cost and schedule requirements.
• Removes barriers that would impact deliverables to meet project requirements and priorities, working with the assigned staff to find solutions and optimizations.
• Fosters a team environment and team building within Engineering and with internal and external customers.
• Interfaces with clients and successfully delivers engineering products in accordance with customer specifications and requirements.
• Establishes the technical approach to achieve project requirements and ensures the design satisfies these requirements.
