Job description

Overview

The Project Engineering Coordinator will report to the Project Manager or the Area Manager and will be responsible for the coordination of engineering, procurement, and construction work. This role requires continuous communication with all project team members and involves identifying, planning, and implementing various scopes of work across major project areas, including new nuclear design, construction, and refurbishment projects for existing plants.

For growth of the candidate, the successful employee may also rotate through short‑term assignments in other Candu Energy or AtkinsRéalis Nuclear project teams to gain exposure to broader parts of the organization.

Rotations may include a supporting role in the preparation and execution of Candu Field Services work. In this role, the incumbent will be responsible for supporting field services teams and ensuring all aspects of work are performed in accordance with the contracted scope, and may be required to perform work on site, including working in the customer’s reactor vault.

Your Role
  • Responsible for assigned scope of the project and accountable for performing duties that facilitate work progression with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and contractual requirements.
  • Liaise with key stakeholders as required, generally including engineering, construction, quality, client, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain a positive relationship with client project counterparts.
  • Help implement the project schedule and track budget for assigned engineering, procurement, and construction segments of the project.
  • Coordinate with Engineering to ensure that the technical documents are prepared in support of the project.
  • Coordinate the preparation and delivery of project deliverables, including construction work packages.
  • Provide status and progress reports in support of the Project Manager.
  • Ensure work is performed within quality program requirements.
  • Ensure a strong nuclear safety culture is reinforced continuously.
  • Employee may be assigned to short‑term field service assignments on Candu Field Services projects, typically during a customer’s outages. During these assignments, the employee may be required to work in a radiological work environment, once trained and qualified, and under the supervision of radiation protection personnel.
About You
  • University degree or equivalent. BSc in Engineering considered an asset.
  • Experience supporting various types of projects, including construction, manufacturing, or engineering services projects considered an asset.
