Job Description

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is looking for an experienced Project Engineer to join our A&N Sonar team. In this role, you’ll direct project-assigned engineers and matrixed support teams, ensuring seamless execution while supporting the Program Managers with requirements, monitoring cost and schedule performance.

You will collaborate with leadership to align project needs and drive technical excellence. You'll analyze risks, engage with cross-functional teams, including Supply Chain, Engineering, and Contracts. From hands-on design, analysis, and testing to customer interfacing and technical documentation, you’ll play a pivotal role in delivering high-impact solutions.

• Directing project-assigned engineers and matrixed support personnel during project execution
• Coordinatingwith leadership to ensure that the project needs are met
• Providing technical inputs to, and reviewing technical outputs from subcontractors;
• Delivering project objectives that meet requirements, to schedule and on budget;
• In conjunction with the PM, reviewing project performance on a monthly basis, analyzing risks (technical, cost, schedule), initiating corrective action when required;
• Interfacingwith support departments, Supply Chain, Component Engineering, Contracts;
• Communicating and interfacing with customers;
• Performing design, analysis and / or test activities in support of completing the project objectives;
• Documentinganalysis, designs and tests (, architecture diagrams, UML diagrams, tech notes, design documents, test plans and test reports) in the format prescribed by standard templates
• Writingformal test cases and execute them to collect formal test results
• Preparingwritten test reports for submission to the end customer
• Investigatingsystem problem reports and field incident reports; perform root cause and trend analyses
• Providingtechnical support during higher level integration and qualification testing
• Makingpresentations ofwork at design reviews or other types of peer reviews

Qualifications

• Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering / Computer Engineering / Computer Science or equivalent.
• 8+years of experience
• Experience in / with : Requirements development, and system designRequirements management toolsSystems Engineering processes and toolsSupporting System Integration and System VerificationWorking in multi-disciplinary teamsTechnical writing
• Strong problem solving skills and ability to conduct analysis leading to good conclusions
• Enthusiastic contributor, willing to learn, and takes pride and ownership of work
