Location & Work Mode

• This is a Saskatoon-based hybrid role, Monday to Friday. Candidates outside the area must be willing to relocate.

The Project Engineer will provide technical guidance to ensure capital projects meet engineering and operational standards. This includes preparing and reviewing engineering drawings, providing specifications, working closely with the engineering team and project stakeholders to identify requirements. The candidate will also be supporting the Project Manager with developing scope of work, budget, and schedule. Ultimately, the Project Engineer is responsible for leading and coordinating multi-disciplinary teams in the development of technical deliverables for the various projects assigned to them.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop detailed project plans that include scope, schedule and budget.
  • Review and approve engineering designs, ensuring they meet project specifications.
  • Work closely with relevant stakeholders, contractors, and vendors to ensure efficient project delivery.
  • Monitor project progress and address any technical issues.
  • Ensure compliance with industry codes, standards, and regulations, including quality assurance.
  • Prepare required reports and forecasts.
  • Manage and allocate resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
  • Conduct ongoing risk assessments - identifying and developing strategies to reduce risks.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical or Process Engineering
  • 6-10 years of experience in a similar role, preferably within the mining or construction industries.
  • Consulting experience is an asset.
  • Familiarity with construction and commissioning is also an asset.
  • P.Eng. Designation with APEGS is required.
  • Strong understanding of the engineering project lifecycle and quality control standards.
  • Excellent communication and coordination skills across teams and disciplines.
