Job summary

Duratec is seeking a Technical Project Engineer for a local Darwin position, overseeing remediation projects across Marine, Defence and Construction environments.

You will drive compliance with project management systems, take ownership of scope and QA, and provide technical guidance while coordinating subcontractors and suppliers for safe, timely project delivery.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years in construction projects.
  • Experience with QA documentation and inspections.
  • Ability to coordinate subcontractors and manage stakeholders.
  • Strong communication skills with site teams, clients and suppliers.
  • Proficient in reading drawings and technical documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance with project management systems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Own defined project scope, specifications, QA, and timely outcomes.
  • Provide technical advice on design and construction methods.
  • Manage all technical aspects of complex projects.
  • Assist in procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Coordinate site activities with supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers for safe, efficient delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation including progress updates and procurement tracking.

THE ROLE

The Duratec Northern Territory team are expanding opportunities for a Technical Project Engineer to come into the local Darwin team, to oversee and champion remediation projects across Marine, Defence and Construction Environments.

This is a local Darwin, Northern Territory role with ongoing project works.

  • Ensure compliance with Duratec’s project management systems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Take ownership of assigned project scope, specifications, QA and timely outcomes.
  • Provide technical advice on design and construction methods.
  • Manage all technical aspects of complex projects
  • Assist in procurement and subcontractor management.
  • Coordinate site activities with supervisors, subcontractors and suppliers to support safe and efficient project delivery.
  • Prepare and maintain project documentation, including progress updates, quality records, procurement tracking and site correspondence.
ABOUT YOU
  • 5 years of experience in Construction
  • Strong understanding of quality documentation and compliance requirements (ITPs, inspections, QA records)
  • Proven ability to coordinate subcontractors
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Confident working with drawings, specifications and technical documentation to support project delivery.
  • A proactive and practical approach, with the ability to work closely with site teams, clients and subcontractors.
  • Tertiary qualification in Engineering
