Qualifications

We are currently seeking an Project Engineer to join our team in Cambridge, ON.

Responsibilities
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical guidance to Graphics and Manufacturing Engineering departments related to non-complex components design requirements. Escalate complex requests to more senior Project Engineers.
  • Participate in ASME and customer Quality Audits.
  • Project and Design Engineering: Manage and direct design activities related to the design of non-complex nuclear components (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, etc.).
  • Assist other Project Engineers in managing more complex projects for design and manufacturing of nuclear components.
  • Ensure component designs meet customer, contract, BWXT, and regulatory requirements.
  • Evaluation of non conformance conditions.
  • Review and approval of non-complex design drawings, calculations and design reports.
  • Prepare technical specifications for sublet activities under supervision of other Project engineers.
  • Review and acceptance of non-complex customer technical requirements on behalf of Component Engineering.
  • Ensure the completion of the engineering deliverables for the assigned project in accordance with the technical requirements, schedule and assigned budget (manhours and dollars, as applicable), with the support of senior Project Engineers, Graphics, Design Engineering and Materials Engineering personnel in the department for non-complex projects.
  • Completion of the NDE matrix in accordance with applicable Codes and Specifications.
  • Interfacing with outside organizations (customer, vendor, regulatory organizations and standards) to achieve the project technical requirements.
  • Assist other Project Engineer responsible for proposals.
Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent.

  • 5 years of working experience, could be more if background in different industry.
  • Experience in Heat Exchanger and Pressure Vessel design and nuclear equipment design.
  • Familiarity with ASME Pressure Vessel Codes Section III and Section VIII.
  • Familiarity with CSA N285.0 and N299 standards.
  • Working knowledge of Solid Works or other 3D modeling software.
  • Familiarity with Welding Procedures, Processes and Pressure Vessel fabrication practices.
  • Knowledge of FEA and ASME Section III stress analysis is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of nuclear plant functions.
  • P.Eng. or in progress is an asset.

The base salary range for this position in [[Ontario]] at the start of employment is expected to be between $85,000 and $126,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment.
