Job summary

Canterra Group is seeking a senior Project Director for a landmark heavy civil infrastructure project in British Columbia. The role leads multidisciplinary teams, oversees operations, safety, scheduling and client relations from pre-construction to completion, with a rotation of 14 days on/7 days off.

You will drive strategy, manage commercial performance, and coordinate with executive leadership, consultants, and stakeholders to ensure successful delivery on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• 15+ years of leadership experience within heavy civil or infrastructure construction.
• Proven experience leading large-scale infrastructure projects valued in the hundreds of millions.
• Strong background in bridges and transportation projects, transit infrastructure, marine or major public infrastructure.
• Demonstrated success managing large project teams and complex field operations.
• Strong commercial, contractual, and operational management experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide executive-level leadership for a major heavy civil infrastructure project.
• Oversee all project operations including construction, commercial management, scheduling, procurement, and staffing.
• Lead Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, and project support teams.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with contractual obligations.

• Oversee risk management, change management, forecasting, and cost control activities.

The Role

As the Project Director, you will provide overall leadership andstrategic direction for a major heavy civil infrastructure project, overseeingall aspects of project execution including operations, commercial performance,scheduling, safety, staffing, client relations, and project delivery.

You will lead multidisciplinary project teams while working closely withexecutive leadership, clients, consultants, and key stakeholders to ensure thesuccessful delivery of the project.
