Job description

Project Coordinator, Renewables

Keep a fast-moving renewable energy team's projects, clients, and vendors running cleanly

Calgary, AB

Full-time, permanent

About the opportunity

PRI is a multidisciplinary engineering and environmental consulting firm with offices across British Columbia, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Ontario. Our Renewables team delivers geotechnical and foundation engineering for solar projects across Canada and the United States, and is expanding into battery storage and wind. The work is high volume and fast moving: many projects at once, tight schedules, field crews on the road, and clients who expect quick answers.

What you'll do
Project coordination
  • Act as the day-to-day contact for clients on active projects: status updates, scheduling, site access, questions, and follow-up.
  • Obtain, compare, and manage vendor quotes and bookings for drilling, pile testing, equipment, labs, and travel, and keep vendor costs within project budgets.
  • Build and maintain project schedules, and coordinate field work and technologist scheduling with the Senior Geotechnical Engineer who leads the technical team.
  • Track scope changes, prepare change orders for the Account Manager's approval, and work with project accounting on invoicing and collections status.
  • Set up projects in Deltek and HubSpot, maintain project files to PRI's document control standard, and close out projects when complete.
  • Watch for anything that threatens a schedule or a client relationship, and raise it early.
Inside sales
  • Respond to and qualify inbound inquiries, route them to the Account Manager, and keep prospects warm.
  • Prepare quotes and proposal drafts from PRI templates for the Account Manager to finalize.
  • Keep HubSpot current: accounts, contacts, opportunities, and follow-up tasks.
  • Research target accounts and support outbound campaigns and trade show follow-up.
What you bring
Required
  • Diploma or degree in business, project management, engineering technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3 or more years coordinating projects in engineering, construction, renewable energy, or another field-based technical business.
  • Experience managing vendors and subcontractors, including quotes, bookings, and cost tracking.
  • Strong scheduling and organizational skills, with the ability to keep many projects moving at once and never lose track of a commitment.
  • Confident, professional communication with clients by phone and email, and the diplomacy to get what you need from busy engineers and field crews.
  • Comfort with CRM and project systems; HubSpot and Deltek experience are assets, as is practical use of AI tools to work faster.
  • Meticulous attention to detail on budgets, change orders, invoicing, and files.
Preferred
  • Exposure to solar, wind, or energy storage projects, or to geotechnical and foundation work.
  • Experience supporting projects in the United States, including vendor and travel logistics across the border.
  • Inside sales or quoting experience in a technical services business.
  • Project management training such as CAPM or equivalent.
Why PRI
  • A central seat on a growing team in one of Canada's fastest-growing markets.
  • Real ownership from day one, and a clear path toward project management or account management as the team grows.
  • Engineers and technologists who respect good coordination, and leaders who want you to run things your way.
  • A firm investing in modern tools, including HubSpot, Deltek, and AI-enabled approaches.
  • Competitive compensation, comprehensive benefits, and support for professional development.

PRI is an equal-opportunity employer committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, and we particularly encourage applications from Indigenous professionals.
