Job summary

Aecon Group is seeking a Project Coordinator to support fabrication facility projects in Sherwood Park, AB. You will coordinate RFIs, organize project documents, and maintain trackers, supporting the Project Manager and engineering/fabrication teams.

Ideal candidates bring 2–5 years of coordination experience in construction or energy projects, with strong MS Office skills and a collaborative mindset. This role combines office and site work within a safety‑driven environment.

Qualifications

  • Post‑secondary education in engineering, construction management, or related technical discipline.
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in a project coordination or project support role within construction, industrial, or energy-related projects.
  • Exposure to RFIs, project documentation, and coordination processes on construction projects.
  • Ability to support scheduling activities and understand basic project timelines and milestones.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track RFIs between construction, engineering, subcontractors, and consultants.
  • Prepare, organize, and maintain project documentation, drawings, and records in accordance with project requirements.
  • Set up and maintain project folders, document registers, and trackers.
  • Support basic project scheduling activities including updates, progress tracking, and coordination with the project team.
  • Ensure current drawings and documents are issued, filed, and communicated correctly.
  • Assist with meeting coordination including agendas, minutes, and follow-ups.
  • Support change management processes by tracking documentation related to change notices and change orders.
  • Assist with preparation of close‑out documentation.
  • Provide general administrative and coordination support to the Project Manager and project team as required.

What is the Opportunity?

Aecon Industrial leads the way in industrial construction with a proven track record of safely delivering a broad range of project solutions for our clients - from fabrication and modularization to new builds, turnarounds and maintenance. The Project Coordinator provides day-to-day coordination support to fabrication facility projects. This role is a support function within the project team and plays a critical role in preparing RFIs, project documentation, schedule updates, and general project coordination activities. The Project Coordinator works closely with construction, engineering, and fabrication teams to ensure information is tracked, organized, and communicated accurately.

What You'll Do Here:

What You Bring to the Team:

  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multiple teams.
  • Comfortable working in both office and site environments.
  • Proficient in MS Office applications including Excel and Word; experience with project management or document control systems is an asset.
