Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. in Ajax, ON is seeking a Co-op Project Coordinator to support the Project Manager with day-to-day coordination and documentation during an 8 to 16 month assignment. Location is Ajax, Ontario, offering hands-on exposure to utility sector projects.

You will assist with project folders, RFIs, meetings, and reporting, while developing scheduling, documentation control, and change management competencies in a dynamic field-office environment.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a 2-year Technician program or a 3-year Technologist program, or a 2nd/3rd year Electrical Engineering degree.
• Interest in the electrical utility sector and basic project coordination concepts.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills; able to collaborate across departments.
• Comfortable working in both office and field/site environments.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and MS Project; SAP or Hard Dollar are assets.
• Highly organized with strong time-management skills and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project coordination and on-site activities.
• Prepare, organize, and maintain accurate project documentation throughout the lifecycle.
• Assist in setting up project folders, templates, and required documentation during project start-up.
• Maintain project files and records on shared servers and document control systems.
• Track, log, and manage project documentation, including RFIs, reports, and general correspondence.
• Ensure drawing and report folders are current and distribute updated information as needed.
• Support preparation and tracking of change notices and change orders.
• Schedule, attend, and take minutes for project meetings and conference calls.
• Generate, log, and follow up on RFIs.
• Assist in preparing Operations & Maintenance manuals and Quality Assurance documentation.
• Track and summarize site hours worked in alignment with project reporting requirements.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safe work practices.

What You’ll Do Here

What You Bring To The Team

Pay Range: $22.00 - $24.00 per hour
