Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Coordinator to support major transportation and municipal projects across the North, reporting to Project Managers and coordinating multidisciplinary teams in Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut.

You will engage in planning through close-out, ensuring projects stay on time and within budget, while collaborating with communities and stakeholders in remote environments. A hybrid office arrangement applies with on-site needs as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field with minimal 1 year of related experience.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential for coordinating with clients and teams.

Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and clients in delivering projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate project controls including financial tracking, forecasting, schedules, contracts, change orders, procurement, and document management.
• Prepare clear and timely project documentation such as agendas, minutes, status reports, action logs, and change records.
• Support workshops, meetings, stakeholder engagement, and Indigenous consultation activities with accurate records and timelines.
• Draft project-related documents such as consultation letters, contracts, funding agreements, and reports.
• Liaise with clients, project partners, technical teams, and stakeholders using established processes.
• Travel occasionally to support project delivery, client meetings, and community engagement.

In this role, you will work alongside our Project Managers to coordinate multidisciplinary teams delivering complex transportation, municipal, and community infrastructure projects in Yukon, Northwest Territories, and Nunavut—from early planning through execution, monitoring and control, and close‑out. Stantec is seeking a Project Coordinator to join our growing engineering practice in Yellowknife or Whitehorse.
Opportunity provides for a hybrid work environment. In office presence is expected based on project needs, client meetings, and team collaboration.
Your Key Responsibilities

• Support Project Managers and clients in delivering projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate project controls, including financial tracking, forecasting, schedules, contracts, change orders, procurement, and document management.
• Prepare clear and timely project documentation, including agendas, minutes, status reports, action logs, decision logs, communications, and change records.
• Support workshops, meetings, stakeholder engagement, and Indigenous consultation activities while maintaining accurate records and meeting required timelines.
• Draft project-related documents such as consultation letters, contracts, funding agreements, reports, and proposal materials.
• Liaise with clients, project partners, technical teams, and stakeholders using established project and engagement processes.
• Travel occasionally to support project delivery, client meetings, and community engagement.
  

Your Capabilities and Credentials

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
• Strong computer skills and literacy in scheduling, technical writing, presentation, and other software including MS Power Point, MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, SharePoint, MS Teams.
• General understanding of project management tasks and the project lifecycle
• Excellent responsiveness, attention to detail, organizational skills, time management, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Experience in risk and quality management considered an asset.
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and assignments.
• Must be able to successfully work both collaboratively and independently.
  

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in related field discipline with a minimum of one (1) year of related experience
  

Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
