Job Overview

We are looking for a technically strong Solar Project Engineer to support the delivery of commercial solar and energy infrastructure projects. The role will bridge engineering, project management, procurement, and field execution, with involvement across the complete project lifecycle-from preliminary design and utility interconnection through construction, commissioning, and closeout.

The position will work closely with Project Managers, external Professional Engineers, utilities, contractors, suppliers, and field teams to ensure projects are technically sound, compliant, constructible, and delivered successfully.

Key Responsibilities
Solar Design & Technical Review

  • Review module and inverter selection, string sizing, DC/AC ratios, inverter inputs, system voltage, and equipment compatibility.
  • Support preliminary reviews of conductors, conduit, disconnects, breakers, transformers, switchgear, and points of connection.
  • Review specifications and datasheets for PV modules, inverters, racking, rapid-shutdown systems, monitoring equipment, and balance-of-system components.
  • Support preparation and review of Bills of Materials (BOMs) and verify equipment against approved designs.
  • Identify design conflicts, missing information, constructability concerns, and discrepancies before construction.
Engineering, Utility & Permitting Coordination
  • Coordinate with external electrical and structural engineers and track engineering deliverables through completion.
  • Support Connection Impact Assessment (CIA) applications and coordinate responses to Local Distribution Company (LDC) comments and requirements.
  • Support ESA Plan Review, building permits, utility interconnection, and other approval processes.
