Your opportunity:
Under the general direction of the Director, Construction & Project Management, and working with the assigned Project Manager, the Project Coordinator will undertake components of construction and renovation projects on our Mississauga Campus.
The Project Coordinator will assist the Project Manager on large scale new build or significant renovation projects that may include labs; office renovations with single department/group occupant; teaching facilities; student services; various renovations within heritage buildings which require city and University of Toronto Planning involvement as well as heritage consultants; electrical service upgrades to several buildings; and code upgrades in multiple buildings. Additional responsibilities within projects may also include arranging service and utility shutdowns for floors; buildings or geographical areas by liaising with the University of Toronto and external providers; coordinating occupancy; regular site attendance to review progress arranging for and completing construction deficiencies; and final close-out of the project (financial and administrative).
The Project Coordinator may be required to act on behalf of the Project Manager in a limited capacity or under specific circumstances. The incumbent will work with the Project Manager to arrange correspondence, meetings, and follow-up activities. Decisions having an impact on the project budget, schedule or quality are referred to the Project Manager.
