We are looking for a Project Coordinator at our Calgary Office. This is a full‑time permanent role reporting to the Sr. Manager Project Management. Based on operational requirements, the Project Coordinator supports the Workforce Housing (WFH) and Major Projects division and the Permanent Modular Construction (PMC) division as well as the Fleet Management and Sales divisions in several aspects pertaining to construction projects in the pursuit, planning, initiation, execution and/or closure phases (full project lifecycle).
Responsibilities
- Develop, organize and support the proper management of the printed and electronic project(s)-related files
- Assist in the preparation of the project proposals and/or the project estimates and budget
- Coordinate with ATCO's design team or external consultants during the projects design development phase
- Assist the Project Manager, the Construction Manager and/or Site Superintendent in the development of short and/or long‑term schedule management approaches and strategies to ensure the project is completed within the project's baseline and client requirements
- Track, monitor and communicate project progress, schedule, safety and other issues accurately
- Prepare the projects Operation and Maintenance (O&M) manual for submission to the client as per contractual requirements
- Assist with supply chain and procurement‑related activities including but not limited to creating/closing Purchase Orders and reviewing and receiving invoices from subcontractors, vendors or suppliers
- Update project revenue and expenses accrual reports for the month‑end projects financial review
- Assist with the pre‑qualification of vendors/suppliers or sub‑contractors and develop subcontract agreements and supporting documents
- Assist with logistics and travel arrangements for ATCO staff and project supporting personnel
- Be mentored by and interact with many seasoned project managers, designers, engineers, architects, superintendents and construction managers across Canada and the US both within ATCO Structures organization and with external parties
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A recent engineering degree or engineering technology diploma related to construction practice or recent graduate with 1-3 years of construction experience
- Proactive, able to work independently, a self‑starter with exceptional organizational, collaborative and team‑building skills
- Formal education (e.g. courses, diploma, etc.) in Engineering Technology, Construction Management / Project Management is considered an asset
- Construction‑related safety courses and training (e.g. CSTS, H2S, Prime Contractor Responsibilities, OSHA, etc.) are considered an asset
- Working knowledge or recent training in scheduling software (e.g. MS Project, Primavera P6) is considered an asset
- Proficient user of the MS Office suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
- Open to travel (Domestic / International) with occasional work from project sites (14‑7 rotation) based on operational requirements
