Job summary

This independent contractor role covers end-to-end procurement, tendering, contract negotiations, variations, and cost optimization with travel across BC. Start date aligns with project needs; contract duration is 1 year with possible extension.

Qualifications

• Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of procurement, contracting, and commercial processes.
• Experience in procurement, contracts, or commercial roles within projects or industrial environments.
• Exposure to capital projects, construction, or mining environments preferred.
• Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Support end-to-end procurement of services including engineering, consulting, and site support services
• Develop and execute contracting strategies aligned with project objectives
• Prepare and issue tender documentation, manage bid evaluations, and support award recommendations
• Negotiate commercial terms and draft service agreements and contract documents
• Manage contract variations, extensions, and change orders through to completion
• Review supplier invoices against contract terms and support payment processes
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective service delivery
• Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve commercial outcomes
• Support logistics, equipment, and operational service agreements as required
