A leading organization in the natural resources sector is seeking a PROJECT COMMERCIAL SERVICES SPECIALIST to support the delivery of large-scale capital projects. This role is responsible for executing procurement and contracting strategies, managing service agreements, and supporting project performance through effective commercial oversight.
Work Location: Vancouver with periodic travel to project sites across BC
Contract Duration: 1 year with possible extension
Employment Type: Independent Contractor
Support end-to-end procurement of services including engineering, consulting, and site support services
Develop and execute contracting strategies aligned with project objectives
Prepare and issue tender documentation, manage bid evaluations, and support award recommendations
Negotiate commercial terms and draft service agreements and contract documents
Manage contract variations, extensions, and change orders through to completion
Review supplier invoices against contract terms and support payment processes
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure effective service delivery
Identify opportunities to optimize costs and improve commercial outcomes
Support logistics, equipment, and operational service agreements as required
Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or related discipline
Strong understanding of procurement, contracting, and commercial processes
Experience in procurement, contracts, or commercial roles within projects or industrial environments
Exposure to capital projects, construction, or mining environments preferred
Familiarity with ERP or procurement systems (e.g., SAP, Ariba) is an asset
Strong negotiation and contract management skills
Analytical and problem-solving capabilities
Effective stakeholder communication and relationship management
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment
