Overview

Are you looking for a role that provides planning, budgeting, scheduling and forecasting support? Do you enjoy collaborating with Project Managers to develop budgets, schedules, performance metrics and coordinating tasks among team members to ensure timely delivery of project deliverables? Our Whiteshell Laboratories location is seeking a Project Business Analyst to join the core project team and support all aspects of project management. Apply today!

What will you be doing?

  • Establishing and maintaining budgets, schedules and scopes of work.
  • Defining tasks and resources, and sequencing the schedule to optimize work completion.
  • Building and maintaining project schedules.
  • Developing accurate project plans for unique projects such as decommissioning a nuclear facility or designing and building infrastructure.
  • Reviewing and approving resources charged to the Control account and ensuring accuracy.
  • Monitoring and assessing Control Account performance, and preparing variance analyses.
  • Preparing Estimates to Completion for the remaining Control Account work scope.
  • Providing forecast dates for activities and milestones in the Control Account schedule.
  • Leading the baseline change control process for revisions to the Control Account’s baseline.
  • Preparing dashboards and weekly/monthly/quarterly project reports and contributing to presentations to management, clients and other stakeholders.
  • Developing, implementing and managing corrective actions as appropriate.
  • Informing management of significant problems concerning Control Account performance.
  • Preparing Earned Value Management financial and business operation/performance reports for management, to articulate emerging issues and plan actions.
  • Preparing contract management documentation and maintaining awareness of contract data requirements and other contract deliverables.
  • Managing all subcontractor efforts that affect Control Account performance.
  • Leading or participating in Make/Buy decisions.
  • Identifying potential technical, schedule and cost risks and using risk management tools effectively.
  • Preparing estimates and forecasting dates for activities and milestones.
  • Employing change control for revisions to the baseline.
  • Supporting all customer meetings and data requests pertaining to the Control Account.
  • Maintaining confidentiality in all matters.
  • Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

  • Education
    • Minimum two (2) year college diploma or equivalent education and experience with a minimum of five (5) years of project management experience OR
    • Minimum of five (5) years’ experience planning and scheduling work, with work management exposure and demonstrated technical ability to assume responsibilities as described above.
    • A Project Management Professional or Master’s Certificate in Project Management is preferred.
  • Experience
    • Familiarity with large industry site facilities, decommissioning, or construction techniques and strategies.
    • Extensive knowledge and experience with project baselines and earned value management.
  • Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Knowledge of the Project Management Body of Knowledge (PMBOK) or similar industry standard for project management.
    • Skilled in using computer programs, especially project management and reporting tools.
    • Excellent organization and communication skills, with the ability to persuade and influence others and build consensus.
    • Integrity, respect for confidences, openness, credibility and sincerity.
    • Aptitude to learn about nuclear decommissioning strategies and techniques.
    • Ability to promote and support a safety-first mindset in project planning and stakeholder engagement.

  • Security Clearance Eligibility Required
    • Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC) with a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL conducts security screening in line with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's standards.

Working Conditions:

  • Compressed work week: four days, ten hours per day, starting at 6 am.
  • Must possess normal physical agility to perform duties involving bending, lifting and mobility.
  • Wearing protective clothing and using required equipment as needed.
  • Ability to walk to field equipment, observe field execution and correlate field status with variance reporting.
  • Work outdoors in varying temperatures and conduct walk-downs in radiological areas.
