Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Structural engineering knowledge and software experience preferred.
• Co-op/internship in engineering consulting is a strong asset.
• Registered with or eligible for provincial engineering association.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze structural components for new construction, renovation and restoration projects.
• Perform site reviews and analyses for structural investigations.
• Prepare field review reports for structural projects during construction.
• Prepare engineering drawings, notes, and specification documents.
• Assist with proposal preparation and client communications.

As a Project Associate, you’ll play a vital part in delivering outstanding service and solutions to our clients. General Responsibilities:

• Marketing: Represent Sense Engineering professionally, building positive relationships with clients, contractors and other consultants.
• Knowledge Development: Enhance your technical expertise and stay current on industry trends and best practices.

Technical Responsibilities:

• Design and analyze structures or building structural components for new construction, renovation and restoration projects.
• Perform site reviews for structural investigations and condition evaluation, and analysis for structural assessment of existing structures.
• Conduct field reviews and prepare field review reports for structural projects during construction.
• Prepare detailed analysis/design notes, engineering drawings and specifications, and structural assessment reports.
• Assist with preparation of project proposals.
• Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants to support clear communication and efficient, timely project delivery.
• Represent Sense at client meetings and other networking functions with a commitment to exceptional service standards.
• Other duties as assigned/required.

What We’re Looking For:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Minor in Structural Engineering or a Master's degree in Structural Engineering will be an asset.
• Previous co‑op or internship experience in the engineering consulting field is considered a strong asset.
• Registered with or eligible for registration with applicable provincial professional engineering association.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools, including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
• Proficient in common structural engineering computer software (e.g. SAP2000, ETABs, SAFE, SpSlab, S-Frame suite of software).
• Familiar with AutoCad or Revit for inter‑discipline coordination and assisting with drawing preparation.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail coupled with a client‑centric mindset.
• Team player who is eager to learn, contribute, and grow in a fast‑paced environment.
• Commitment to creative thinking and approaching challenges from fresh perspectives, with a strong commitment to continuous learning and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the organization.
• Valid driver’s license and access to reliable transportation required.
