Job summary

Stantec is seeking a full-time Project Archaeologist to join our Archaeology team in Ontario. You will be responsible for leading archaeological projects from planning through delivery, coordinating field teams, and liaising with clients and regulators.

The role covers urban brownfields to remote sites across Ontario and opportunities to collaborate with colleagues nationwide. The ideal candidate has a Master’s or Bachelor's in Anthropology/Archaeology, a professional license, and at least 5

• Ontario Field Supervisor experience is an asset.
• PMP designation is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Act as a Project Manager and provide Field Supervisor oversight when required.
• Manage and execute all aspects of archaeological projects from proposal development to deliverable submission.
• Coordinate resourcing and logistics with other Project Managers and Team Leads.
• Monitor project financials with the help of a financial team.
• Participate in business development and proposal preparation.
• Liaise with Indigenous communities, clients, and regulators.
• Collaborate with Field Supervisors to deliver sound cultural resource management recommendations.
• Lead project teams of up to 20+ individuals.
• Write or quality review proposals and archaeological reports.
• Support and promote Stantec’s HSSE program.

Your Opportunity

We are seeking a full-time Project Archaeologist to join our Archaeology team in Ontario. An individual in this role will be highly organized and self-motivated. Your expertise will be utilized in all parts of Ontario, from urban core brownfields to fly-in only wilderness, for a wide array of private and public sector clients. You may also take advantage of opportunities to collaborate with Stantec colleagues across Canada.

Your Key Responsibilities

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Ontario Field Supervisor an asset
• Project Management Professional (PMP) designation an asset
• A valid Ontario drivers license is required

Education and Experience

• Master’s or Bachelor’s degree in Anthropology or Archaeology, or equivalent, is required
• Professional or Research Archaeology License issued by the Ministry of Heritage, Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries, in good standing is required
• Minimum of 5 years of cultural resource management experience required, with a minimum one year of experience managing archaeological projects

• Locations in Lower Mainland - BC, GTA & Ottawa Ontario-$81,500.00 - $118,200.00 Annually
