Job Description

AECOM's Cultural Resources Team is seeking an experienced Project Archaeologist to work out of one of our Ontario offices. The role will assist in managing, coordinating, and completing archaeological assessments and reporting in accordance with provincial standards while supporting a diverse range of clients.

This full‑time position starts as soon as possible.

Responsibilities
  • Support management of projects from proposal to report completion, coordinating multidisciplinary teams.
  • Deliver projects within the client’s scope, budget, and schedule.
  • Coordinate with clients, subcontractors, and Indigenous partners.
  • Prepare archaeological reports compliant with the Ministry of Citizenship and Multiculturalism (MCM) standards.
  • Utilize the MCM’s online portal (Past Portal) and understand its Standards and Guidelines for Consultant Archaeologists.
  • Implement field health and safety materials.
  • Maintain attention to detail and excellent written and oral communication.
  • Work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Hold a valid Research or Professional class license issued by the Ontario MCM.
  • Demonstrate understanding of pre‑contact and historic artifacts found in Ontario.
Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s Degree in archaeology, anthropology, or a related field.
  • 2 years of consulting project management experience and field experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience.
  • Extensive experience coordinating logistics for multiple field teams.
  • Experience tracking field effort, including data collection and management.

Compensation

Offer range: $57,000 to $75,000 CAD per year, based on education, qualifications, experience, and location.
