Job summary

  • Requires experience with SAP and BI for program management and reporting.
  • Experience creating/producing reports using SAP, BI, Excel, SharePoint.

Responsibilities

  • Perform monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis for Cable Locates and Damage Claims programs.
  • Develop reports and dashboards to monitor performance and support rate filings.
  • Gather requirements from stakeholders to support locate delivery processes.
  • Document processes and identify improvement opportunities.
  • Create and automate workflows to manage processes.
  • Liaise with Ontario One Call, vendors, ORCGA and other utilities; represent Hydro One externally.
  • Monitor compliance with Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification Act and Hydro One procedures.
  • Monitor service provider performance and contractual compliance; establish reporting templates.
  • Manage agreements for locate services with internal LoBs and external partners.
  • Provide advice on price, service levels, processes for contracts or SLAs.
  • Deliver presentations and training materials to stakeholders.
  • Contribute to interpretation and assessment of performance related to programs.
  • Assist in benchmarking and provide analysis for internal/external requests.

General Accountabilities:

Reporting to the Manager, Distribution Damage Prevention this role will:

  • Perform monthly and quarterly reporting and analysis activities for the Cable Locates and Damage Claimswork programs. This includes development of consistent financial forecasts, productivity reporting, placemats/dashboards, scorecards/reports, reports to support rate filings/business planning, and others.
  • Develop and/or produce reports to assist in monitoring various aspects of the work programs, including ad hoc reports as required.
  • Work with various levels of stakeholders to gather requirements to assist in the development and implementation of processes to support locate delivery
  • Document processes and continually review for opportunities to improve.
  • Create and automate workflows to manage processes as required.
  • Liaise with Ontario One Call, vendors, Ontario Regional Common Ground Alliance (ORCGA) and other utilities. Represent Hydro One on external committees as required.
  • Monitor processes to ensure compliance with the requirements of the Ontario Underground Infrastructure Notification System Act, and Hydro One procedures.
  • Monitor locate service provider performance and contractual compliance with Hydro One requirements. Establish reporting framework and templates for service providers.
  • Work with various internal LoBs as well as external partners to execute and manage agreements for locate services.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on price, service levels, processes, and other deliverables to assist in negotiation of Contracts or Service Level Agreements.
  • Monitor, evaluate, and recommend changes and best practices to meet locate compliance requirements. Produce and/or oversee the development of the communication and training requirements relating to processes and prepare and deliver presentations and other materials as required.
  • Contribute to the interpretation and assessment of performance as it relates to the execution of work programs, effectiveness and adaptation of business processes, tools and systems.
  • Assist in process benchmarking and identify potential best practices to improve assigned processes. Prepare analysis or provide information or advice in response to internal and external requests.
  • Work with various internal and external parties to support the damage claims process to ensure costs associated with 3rd party damages are recovered.
  • Exercise limited or periodic supervision over staff assigned to assist/contribute to specific studies or projects.
  • Produce briefing notes for various audiences, including senior management, as required.
  • Perform other duties as required.

  • Requires experience handling multiple tasks while adhering to stringent deadlines and status tracking.
  • Requires ability to perform independent process and/or audit reviews and presenting findings to key stakeholders.
  • Requires experience with SAP and BI for program management and reporting.
  • Requires experience in working effectively with a wide range of people as well as the ability to work independently.
  • Requires a sound knowledge of the theories and principles relating to business methods, processes, operations, including computerized applications associated with a modern business environment.
  • Requires experience creating and producing reports using various tools, including SAP, BI, Excel, Sharepoint, etc
  • Requires extensive data analysis experience using various tools to identify trends, opportunities, provide status updates, etc.
  • Requires some experience monitoring organizational performance, using a variety of diagnostic tools, and working in change management initiatives to secure organizational alignment and improved performance.
  • Requires basic understanding of the electrical distribution system and associated components/equipment.
  • Basic GIS knowledge would be beneficial
  • Knowledge of underground locates and associated legislation is considered beneficial
  • This knowledge is considered to be normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of University training (Grade XII plus 5 years)
  • A period of over 8 years and up to and including 10 years is considered necessary to gain this experience.
