Job summary

Maplesoft Group is seeking a Programmer / Software Developer Level 3 - Full-Stack Developer to support a long-term federal government initiative in the National Capital Region. The role centers on Oracle APEX, SQL/PL-SQL, and back-end to front-end development across enterprise apps.

The position offers hybrid Ottawa/Gatineau work, collaboration with Product Owners and Analysts, Agile ceremonies, and extensive documentation and tooling with Azure DevOps and Git.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, science, CS, math or a tech discipline.
• 10 years experience as software developer/database modeller (last 15 years).
• APEX development experience (24+ months in last 60 months).
• Experience with Oracle SQL and PL/SQL and complex queries.
• Ability to communicate in English (written and spoken).
• Valid Secret-level federal government security clearance.
• On-site availability in the Ottawa/Gatineau region as required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain full-stack apps using Oracle APEX, SQL and PL/SQL.
• Create and optimize complex SQL queries, procedures, functions and triggers.
• Design UI flows in Oracle APEX and translate requirements into UI/UX.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, BAs and the team in an Agile setting.

Maplesoft Group is seeking an experienced Programmer / Software Developer Level 3 - Full-Stack Developer to support a long-term federal government initiative within the National Capital Region.

Position Summary

The successful candidate will provide full-stack software development and application support for in-house software products. The role focuses heavily on Oracle Application Express (APEX), Oracle SQL and PL/SQL, supporting both front-end user interfaces and back-end data layers. The developer will work collaboratively with stakeholders, Product Owners, Business Analysts and technical team members in an Agile environment to develop, enhance, maintain and document business applications. The position is hybrid within the Ottawa/Gatineau National Capital Region, with on-site work required based on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, enhance and maintain full-stack applications using Oracle APEX, Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Develop and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
• Design and enhance Oracle APEX user interfaces and application workflows.
• Translate user stories, business requirements and user-research findings into UI designs, workflows, wireframes and prototypes.
• Support in-house applications across both user-interface and database layers.
• Collaborate with Product Owners, Business Analysts, stakeholders and development team members to understand and refine requirements.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies including stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews and retrospectives.
• Use development and lifecycle tools including Oracle SQL Developer, Azure DevOps and Git.
• Produce and maintain software design, architecture, code, process and technical documentation.
• Follow established development, testing, release, configuration-management and code-promotion processes.
• Ensure compliance with applicable information-security, data-handling and Government of Canada accessibility requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in engineering, science, computer science, mathematics or a technology-related discipline, or recognized equivalent.
• Minimum 120 months (10 years) of experience within the last 180 months working as a software developer and/or database modeller.
• Minimum 24 months of Oracle Application Express (APEX) development experience within the last 60 months.
• Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining applications using Oracle SQL and PL/SQL.
• Demonstrated experience with complex queries, stored procedures, functions, packages and triggers.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both orally and in writing.
• Must hold a valid Secret-level federal government security clearance.
• Must be available to work on-site within the Ottawa/Gatineau National Capital Region as required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Extensive Oracle APEX development experience.
• Extensive Oracle PL/SQL experience.
• Experience translating user stories, business requirements or user-research findings into UI designs, workflows, wireframes or prototypes.
• Recent experience with Microsoft Access.
• Recent experience with Microsoft Azure DevOps.
• Recent experience with Oracle SQL Developer.
• Recent experience with Unified Codes APEX Office Print (AOP).
• Experience within the aviation or aerospace sector.
• Experience working in federal government environments.
• Experience with Agile software-development teams and Git/version-control practices.

Compensation

Salary Range: $60.00 - $80.00 / hour
