The Program Support – Rapid Access to Addiction Medicine (RAAM) Clinic will assist within the scope of defined duties an inter‑disciplinary team of physicians, nurse practitioners, registered nurses, counsellors, and other staff in the provision of substance use and addiction related services to clients.

WHAT WE'RE OFFERING:
  • What you'll be making - Starting rate for this role is $22.50 per hour (Level 1 – Program Support II),
    • Successful external applicants will start at Level 1, with grid progression based on seniority up to Level 8 ($29.08 per hour); for internal applicants, grid level placement will occur as per the Collective Agreement
  • When you'll work -42 hours biweekly; 3 shifts per week on Monday, Thursday and Friday.

HOW YOU WILLBE MAKINGA DIFFERENCE:
  • Protect and promote the welfare, dignity, and individual rights of our clients at all times
  • Participate in the bio-psycho-social approach to patient care providing support using Motivational Interviewing
  • Employ safe work practices at all times
  • Maintain a professional manner at all times in the performance of duties
  • Greet and direct clients to appropriate resources and / or services
  • Provide reception both in person and via phone as required
  • Handle correspondence, including: email, fax and mail as required
  • Assist with client referrals
  • Update, maintain and ensure accuracy of client information in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Assist with analyzing data and relevant information to: compose reports, compile statistics, and prepare correspondence and agendas
  • Monitor inventory of medical supplies and materials and order as required
  • Provide basic health and personal care for clients as required
  • Monitor clients receiving substitution therapies
  • Participate in the implementation of care/treatment plans as directed
  • Take patients' blood pressure, temperature and pulse as directed
  • Collect specimens for testing, e.g. urine drug testing
  • Train clients in the administration of Naloxone
  • Maintain inventory of supplies including cleaning and sterilization of equipment
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO APPLY:
Police Vulnerable Sector Check Requirements

Successful candidates must have a Police Vulnerable Sector Check completed in the last six months. Interested applicants who reside in the City of London and are in need of a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) are encouraged to apply for one as soon as possible as PVSCs in the City of London are currently taking approximately 5 weeks to be processed and offers of employment cannot be made without receipt of a PVSC.

We require the following qualifications:
  • Completed education in post-secondary administrative program or human services program, or equivalent (primary proof of credentials will be required during the hiring process i.e. original degree/diploma or official transcript)
  • Current, satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC)
  • Demonstrated ability to attend work regularly
We prefer the following qualifications:
  • Medical office administration experience
  • Training to administer Naloxone
  • Current First Aid/CPR certification
  • CPI crisis prevention and intervention training
  • Capacity and comfort dealing with street-involved individuals who may exhibit behaviours consistent with their distress, intoxication or other circumstances
  • Experience working with individuals with mental health/addiction needs
  • Experience with EMRs required including knowledge of medical terminology
  • Experience in crisis resolution
  • Access to a vehicle for personal transportation
  • Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information
