Job summary

Providence Health Care is seeking a Program Manager, Technology to lead and coordinate our technology portfolio across the organization. The role bridges internal teams, vendors, and leadership to ensure technology investments support mission, operations and growth.

The position requires strong program management capabilities, vendor management experience, and a deep understanding of Microsoft 365 environments, SharePoint, and CRM systems.

Qualifications

  • Graduation from a recognized degree program in health sciences, social sciences, health research, communications, policy or related field.
  • Five years of recent related experience in the program area or equivalent.
  • Knowledge of program area, policies and values.
  • Facilitate collaboration and change management, and work independently or in a team.
  • Ability to develop and implement program plans and realize project completion.
  • Ability to lead and mentor others and manage a team.
  • Effective communication in a complex interdisciplinary environment.
  • Facilitation, persuasion and negotiation to achieve consensus and outcomes.
  • Ability to meet deadlines under time pressure and balance priorities.
  • Knowledge of word-processing, spreadsheets, presentations, learning, project management and databases.
  • Strong written and verbal communication; plain language writing is an asset.
  • Experience delivering programs/projects using PM methods.
  • Knowledge of Truth and Reconciliation Calls to Action and UNDRIP and PHC’s Declaration.
  • Decision making and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Provides high-level oversight, monitoring and project management for a variety of program initiatives.
  • Provides day-to-day operational support for program staff including onboarding and training.
  • Works with internal and external groups to ensure projects are managed appropriately.
  • Leads organizational committees, improvement groups and implementation teams.
  • Develops work plans and tracks progress to targets; provides status updates to partners.
  • Responds to information requests and coordinates communication with Foundry stakeholders.
  • Provides information, analyses and recommendations to support program evaluation and decision-making.
  • Identifies program needs and supports continuous improvement and policy development.
  • Maintains long-term relationships with key partners and suppliers to strengthen connections.
  • Negotiates contracts with vendors/partners to support deliverables.
  • Prepares reports, funding applications, and maintains statistical records.
  • Manages staffing, budget, and resource allocation for the program.

Program Manager, Technology

We are looking for a Program Manager, Technology to provide leadership and coordination for Foundry's technology portfolio and organizational technology initiatives. This role serves as a key bridge between internal teams, technology vendors, and organizational leadership, ensuring technology investments support Foundry's mission, operations, and future growth. The Program Manager will:

  • Lead and coordinate a portfolio of technology projects and operational initiatives across the organization.
  • Manage relationships with technology vendors, consultants, and external partners.
  • Lead and coordinate a portfolio of technology initiatives, including Microsoft 365, SharePoint modernization and information management initiatives, the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365 (CRM), cybersecurity, procurement, software licensing, contract management, and other organizational technology priorities.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Operations, Communications, Finance, Privacy, Security, Learning & Development, and other teams to align technology solutions with organizational priorities.
  • Facilitate governance committees, steering groups, and decision-making processes.
  • Monitor project risks, dependencies, timelines, budgets, and outcomes while ensuring clear communication and stakeholder engagement.

Education:

Graduation from a recognized degree program in health sciences, social sciences, health research, communications, policy or related field plus five (5) years’ recent, related experience in the program area or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills. Expertise in plain language writing is an asset.
  • Demonstrated success in program or project delivery and execution of project management methods.

Your Day To Day:

  • Provides high-level oversight, monitoring and project management for a variety of program initiatives.
  • Provides day-to-day operational support for program staff including onboarding of staff, provision of education and training of staff, coaching and mentoring staff, and orientating staff to available Foundry resources and information portals.
  • Works collaboratively within a team environment and interacts directly and independently with all relevant groups (internal and external) to ensure that all facets of projects and tasks assigned are managed appropriately.
  • Provides leadership, facilitation, coordination and/or support as required to organizational committees, improvement groups and operational/implementation groups.
  • Develops work plans, tracks progress to targets/goals, and provides status updates and progress reports to internal and external partners and stakeholders (as required).
  • Responds to information requests and coordinates communication of responses with various areas within the Foundry network and with other stakeholders.
  • Provides information, reports, analyses and recommendations as required to support program evaluation, research activities and decision-making associated with the program.
  • Identifies program needs and supports the use of research, best practice and emerging trends to inform continuous improvement of the program. Develops policies and procedures to support program implementation and decision-making.
  • Establishes and maintains long-term relationships with key partners internal and external to Foundry to strengthen connections, identify information needs, share information, and create opportunities for partnership by building alliances, broadening reach and engaging new audiences, and identifying common interests and needs through sustained connection and engagement processes.
  • Facilitates and maintain relationship between Foundry and vendors/partners and negotiates contracts to support program deliverables.
  • Prepares reports, business cases, funding applications, proposals and maintains statistical records regarding program activities.
  • Manages the recruitment, selection and hiring of staff within program. Monitors and reviews staff performance, assesses developmental needs, makes recommendations regarding discipline and/or initiates disciplinary action in conjunction with HR Partner.
  • Manages program budget and monitors expenditures to ensure projections and targets are met, reporting on any variances.
  • Ensures optimal utilization of available resources such as equipment across projects as appropriate.
  • Performs other related duties as required.
