Our Client is one of North America’s leading energy infrastructure companies with operations in natural gas, oil and power industries throughout Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
Note: The primary pay rate is based on T4 classification; however, we will also consider applications from candidates interested in an INC classification, where applicable.
Description
The Program Manager is a senior resource responsible for orchestrating the day‑to‑day delivery of the Company’s SAP Plus program and SAP ECC to S/4 HANA transformation. The Program Manager plays a key role in ensuring successful project delivery through effective management of scope, timelines, dependencies, and risk management. This role requires extensive SAP S/4 HANA program delivery experience, strong leadership in coordinating cross‑functional teams, and the ability to communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
Responsibilities
- Planning & Execution:
- The Program Manager is responsible for orchestrating the day‑to‑day delivery of the transformation from SAP ECC landscape to SAP Cloud Solutions, ensuring the program scope, timelines and outcomes are aligned with business objectives.
- Works with internal resources and the external System Integrator to develop and manage the integrated program plan across all workstreams (e.g., Business Process, Technical, Data, etc.).
- Drive scope and timeline discussions to develop the integrated program plan.
- Works with the Business Process Integration Lead to understand the business process hierarchy and future process design requirements.
- Works with the Technical Lead to ensure the successful delivery of the technical aspects of the program.
- Works with the PMO to develop stage‑gate materials, including the program scope, integrated plan and business case to seek approval to progress to Design and Build phases.
- Ensures compliance with SAP best practices, security standards, and relevant governance policies.
- Risk & Issue Management:
- Proactively identify, track, and mitigate risks, issues and dependencies to ensure successful delivery, in alignment with processes governed by the Program Management Office (PMO).
- Escalates critical issues to the PMO Lead and VP, SAP Plus.
- Partners with Project Interface Manager and OCM to resolve any change risks or interface issues.
- Reporting & Communication:
- Provides regular status updates to the leadership team and key stakeholders, ensuring transparency on progress, risks and dependencies.
- Provides information to the PMO, to support governance and regular committee/council/board meetings.
- Present information to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
- Team Leadership:
- Trusted advisor to the SAP Plus Leadership team, leveraging previous S/4 HANA program management experience.
- Influence internal and external teams to deliver program on schedule and within approved budget.
- Provide informal leadership that inspires diverse project teams, including internal resources and external consultants, across a hybrid work environment that spans North America (during the Planning Phase) and internationally with the offshore System Integrator during Design and Build.
- Key deliverables to be completed during the Planning phase of the project in collaboration with the System Integrator and other project team members:
- Development of the SAP Plus program integrated plan (roadmap) in collaboration with the broader SAP Plus project team and the System Integrator.
- Support the development of stage‑gate materials to progress from planning to design phase.
Qualifications
- 15+ years of professional experience, with a strong focus on SAP program management, in particular, experience planning the design and implementation of SAP S/4 HANA.
- Proven track record successfully delivering at least two large‑scale SAP projects and at least one on SAP Rise, including S/4 HANA transformations, across complex environments.
- Deep understanding of SAP modules, core processes, and the broader ERP Application ecosystem, including BTP and Cloud migration strategies.
- Expertise in program and project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall) with hands‑on experience leading large‑scale programs.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and inspire a shared vision.
- Business acumen to act as a trusted advisor and align technology delivery with industry KPIs and strategic goals.
- Education and Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
- PMP nice to have
- Certifications relevant to SAP S/4 HANA (e.g., for specific modules or for implementation) nice to have
