Job description
Your Opportunity

Help shape the future of critical care in Alberta! When Albertans are critically ill, Acute Care Alberta (ACA) is there. ACA is currently seeking a Program Lead to help lead the new provincial program, Critical Care Alberta. This is your opportunity to lead a team of critical care experts who oversee provincial practices that ensure the best possible patient experience and outcomes for patients and families. As the Program Lead, you will plan, implement, and evaluate the province‑wide Critical Care Alberta program. You will set goals and benchmarks and establish systems for program evaluation and quality improvement that support sustainable, evidence‑based, best‑practice care in the critical care health system. As this position is provincial in scope, your physical work location is negotiable within Alberta and eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.

Description

As the Program Lead, Provincial Programs, Critical Care Alberta (CrCA), you will support the establishment of CrCA and subsequently lead the CrCA team in the adoption and delivery of evidence‑based, data‑driven best practice care leveraging a Health Learning Systems approach for pediatric and adult ICU patients in Alberta. Reporting to the Senior Program Lead for Critical Care and Trauma Care Alberta, you will provide leadership, expert advice, and recommendations as you establish desired outcomes for pediatric and adult ICU patients and set relevant metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track program progress and effectiveness. In this role, you will coordinate and evaluate multi‑stakeholder quality improvement and innovation projects that are provincial in scope. You will work to ensure condition‑specific standardized care paths, protocols and care delivery to enable seamless patient flow; and support health system sustainability by providing recommendations on resource allocation to support these goals. The Program Lead will also support research initiatives, in conjunction with the Health Service Delivery Organizations (HSDOs). As such, this role is future‑oriented to support innovative best‑in‑class acute care for pediatric and adult ICU patients. This role requires a comprehensive skill set to support the evolution of Critical Care Alberta. In this position, you will play a key role in fostering engaging relationships with appropriate stakeholders nationally and provincially. On the ground level, you will work to establish a positive and psychologically safe team culture; coach employees for high performance; and ensure the accuracy and reliability of data quality.
