Job summary

Canadian Forces Morale and Welfare Services (CFMWS) invites applications for a dynamic Program Instructor to plan and deliver engaging fitness classes, demonstrate techniques, and adapt activities for diverse participants. This on-site role emphasizes safety, schedules, equipment, and high-quality instruction.

You will liaise with external organizations to stay current with trends, assist with advertising and outreach, and contribute to evaluation and reporting.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma and experience leading classes such as group fitness sessions.
  • Current program certification in personal training or group fitness.
  • CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications are required.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate program techniques and adapt activities for diverse participants.
  • Prepare schedules, assemble equipment, and monitor attendance with safety standards.

THE ROLE

We’re looking for a dynamic Program Instructor who thrives on creating engaging, safe, and impactful learning experiences. In this role, you’ll plan and deliver classes, demonstrate program techniques, and adapt activities to meet diverse participant needs. You’ll ensure smooth operations by preparing schedules, assembling equipment, and monitoring attendance, while maintaining the highest standards of safety and certification.

You’ll also help shape the future of our programs by liaising with external organizations to bring in the latest trends, assisting with advertising and outreach, and supporting evaluation and reporting. If you’re passionate about empowering individuals, promoting lifestyle awareness, and making a positive impact, this is the opportunity for you.

Qualifications Needed
Education, Certifications and Licenses
  • High school diploma AND some years experience conducting classes, such as group strength and conditioning or fitness classes
  • Current program certification in personal training/group fitness
Experience
  • Current CPR and Basic First Aid qualifications
  • In planning, organizing, and delivering classes
  • In monitoring and controlling large groups of participants
  • In ensuring safety protocols and procedures
Competencies

Client focus, organizational knowledge, communication, innovation, teamwork and leadership.

Language Requirements

English Essential / Bilingual (English and French) an asset
