Position Title: Program Director: Discipleship

Position Overview
To develop and implement a student discipleship experience that merges the spiritual formation and work excellence of MBC student staff, all while providing a vibrant community life experience. Primary responsibility rests in developing programs for all Immerse Students. In total, this includes responsibility to help recruit for these cohorts and to steward the discipleship opportunity for some 140 individual youth annually. The coordinators of the program should work together to divide the following duties based on passions, work experience and skill level. The Program Director: Discipleship will also create pathways for young guests to move from Youth Ministry (grades 7-12) through the Immerse program and into potential year-round service opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a staff recruitment pipeline that encourages high-quality staff who are growing in their faith.
- Recruit and fill youth staff positions annually, and support Widjiitiwin program recruitment and provide input on returning applicants.
- Build and maintain partnerships with colleges, churches, and ministries for recruitment.
- Partner with Marketing to engage at churches, colleges, and job fairs.
- Track and document youth performance in community life and spiritual formation.
Support students as they maximize growth in the three areas of: Spiritual Formation, Community Life and Work Excellence
- Model and cultivate discipleship in alignment with MBC’s Statement of Faith.
- Create and implement annual spiritual formation and community life plans for youth cohorts.
- Build healthy community through coaching, mentoring, and training with HR and supervisors.
- Provide curriculum, Bible studies, and life-skills learning for spring/summer students.
- Oversee health, safety, and communication systems for youth in residence.
- Gather feedback and adjust programs for effectiveness.
- Lead year-round discipleship, service/mission experiences, and support for students and young staff.
Prepare the next generation.
- Recruit, train, and mentor the Immerse Leadership Team for spring and summer.
- Build a leadership pipeline for continuity and future growth.
- Support intergenerational community through Staff Coaches/Dorm Families.
- Hold regular meetings and check-ins to guide and develop leaders year-round.
Oversee the implementation of the Youth Ministry program at MBC.
- Track and evaluate the impact of youth ministry programming across MBC (including Widjiitiwin).
- Oversee and lead summer youth ministry programs with staff support.
- Train and equip youth ministry staff, ensuring documentation and policy compliance.
- Provide spiritual leadership to foster staff growth and alignment with discipleship goals.
Support student families as required throughout the year.
- Partner with parents to support holistic discipleship for youth.
- Maintain clear communication on key issues, especially for those under 18.
- Organize parent connection points (orientation, arrivals, departures).
- Provide seminars and resources to equip parents, aligned with the Resilient Family Vision Framework.

- Design a 4–6 year growth pathway for youth in the discipleship program.
- Develop plans, resources, and metrics for year-round spiritual impact.
- Connect youth to growth opportunities beyond MBC terms.
- Maintain ongoing relationships through check-ins and reunions.
Support the year-round team and plans of Muskoka Bible Centre
- Serve as a member of the Ministry Team – providing input and participation in the greater vision of growing resilient, biblically rooted families across the MBC ministry program experiences
- Develop the annual budget for all related expenses by November 1 for the following year’s budget.
Qualifications & Education
- Working with Youth and Camp Ministry
- Leadership - Planning, Oversight of programming etc.
- Management/Leadership Training
- Youth Ministry Training is an asset
- Bible college/seminary training is considered an asset
- Mental Health/Counseling training is considered an asset
- Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to serving others.
- A servant attitude and team-oriented approach.
- Agreement to and alignment with the Muskoka Bible Centre Code of Conduct.
- Adherence to the MBC Statement of Faith & Doctrine
