Job summary

PLASP Child Care Services in Brampton is seeking a Program Director for the Before and After School - Kindergarten program at Somerset Drive PS. You will lead a caring team, plan engaging activities, and ensure compliance with CCEYA and MEDU standards.

You will manage budgets and food orders, supervise staff and volunteers, handle registrations and health checks, and provide PA day coverage, all while maintaining a safe, inclusive environment for children aged 4–12.

Qualifications

• Requires registration with the College of Early Childhood Educators (RECE) and an ECE degree or diploma.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in child care and supervision of staff.
• Valid Standard First Aid with level C CPR.
• Criminal Reference Check – Vulnerable Sector.
• Knowledge of the CCEYA and MOE licensing requirements.
• Ability to plan, develop and implement age-appropriate activities.
• Strong leadership and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Establish a safe, warm, and caring environment for a high-quality extended day program.
• Plan, develop, and implement activities promoting physical, social, emotional and intellectual well-being.
• Budget, order food, and prepare nutritious meals per Canada Food Guide.
• Supervise and train staff, volunteers and placements with performance appraisals.
• Handle administration: registrations, records, health & safety, supplies.
• Operate programs per MEDU standards and maintain CCEYA license.
• Participate in PA Days, providing safe care on/off premises.
