Job summary

Catholic Social Services in Red Deer is seeking a Program Assistant for our Immigration and Settlement Service to support newcomers with information, forms and referrals. This full-time role emphasizes accuracy, organization and teamwork in a community-focused office.

You will handle filing, data entry, minute taking, phone calls and basic report preparation while collaborating with colleagues to meet client needs. Prior office administration training and experience with newcomers are assets.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education related to office administration.
  • 3–5 years’ experience in an administrative role.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Criminal Record Check from local RCMP or City Police.
  • Child Intervention Record Check.

Responsibilities

  • Provide contact information, resources and general information to newcomers.

Job Description

Catholic Social Services is currently recruiting for a full time (40 hours/week) Program Assistant in our Red Deer Immigration and Settlement office.

Job Summary:

As a Program Assistant, your understanding of the needs of newcomers is very important as you will be responsible in providing contact information, resources and general information to newcomers. You will be responsible for filing, documentation, making phone calls, taking meeting minutes, filling forms, and data input. Your attention to detail will assist you in compiling and preparing statistical reports. Your team building skills will assist you in organizing and participating in various meetings.

What This Job Requires:
  • Post-secondary education related to office administration
  • 3 - 5 years’ experience working in an administrative role
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Experience working with newcomers to Canada is considered an asset
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Detail oriented and organized
  • Criminal Record Check from local RCMP or City Police
  • Child Intervention Record Check
