A local community support organization in Hamilton is seeking a Program Assistant to provide support to shelter residents and their pets. The ideal candidate has post-secondary education in a related field, experience with high-needs individuals, and strong communication skills. Good Shepherd is preparing to launch a new, innovative shelter that will provide emergency accommodation to individuals and domestic partnerships currently living in encampments – we are seeking a Program Assistant.
This housing‑focused shelter program will offer stand‑alone units for residents (and their pets) on a City‑owned site at Tiffany and Barton Streets. The program team will provide intensive, adaptive supports and services to residents with highly complex barriers to finding and sustaining housing in the community.
With a demonstrated commitment to the values of availability, flexibility, adaptability, hospitality and dignity, the Program Assistant will work in a housing‑focused shelter setting in support of residents and their pets.
