Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. (AMD) is seeking a senior software developer for the ROCm profiling tools within the AGS group.

You will contribute to data handling abstractions, adapters, and integration with profiling tool stacks, while maintaining production-quality code in a fast-paced environment. The role emphasizes hands-on delivery, performance engineering, and the ability to communicate complex concepts across global teams.

THE ROLE:

This is a position within the AI GPU Software Group (AGS) responsible for the AMD ROCm Profiling Tools. As a contributor to the success of AMD's ROCm profiling tool ecosystem, you will be part of a leading team to drive and improve the functionality, scalability, and interoperability of the tools. This is a deeply hands-on, individual contributor role focused on solution delivery, technical implementation, and performance engineering. It is not a people management, program management, or alliance management position.

THE PERSON:

We are seeking someone who is passionate about Software Development at AMD.The successful candidate must be an experienced modern C++ developer able to utilize agentic tools to increase productivity in developing and understanding complex code within a fast paced environment.The successful candidate is a strong communicator who canunderstand and convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Define and implement abstraction layers for data handling.


• Implement adapters for various data formats.


• Work closely with profiling tools teams and open-source code base


• Communicate and collaborate across many teams to coordinate feature across profiling tools stack


• Design, code, test and integrate features, enhancements and bug fixes into the profiling tools stack


• Refactor code bases to improve modularity and interoperability.


• Implement scalable data transfer solutions for multi-node distributed environments.


• Experience with production software quality assurance practices, methodologies, and procedures


• Excellent communication skills and experience working with global teams


• Able to adapt quickly to new code bases and contribute production level software to the profiling tools

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:

• Advanced C++ (20+) development background and recent engagements is required.


• Python development background


• Experience indesigning APIsand integrating them with large-scale applications.


• Experience withmulti-threaded asynchronous codes, networking, client-server, and distributed models.


• Proficiency in using AI tools for enhanced productivity in code development.


• Experience withDatabases.


• Experiencewith Linux, GitHub, Docker development environment.


• Effective communicationand problem-solving skills


• Familiarity with performance analysis tools and methods, is a plus

ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor's orMaster'sdegree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.
