Job summary

Bombardier Transportation GmbH in Dorval, Canada, is seeking a Professional Engineering with EWIS and BAPS expertise to support production line EWIS activities and standardization across sites. You will drive component management, PLM documentation, and SAP data maintenance while collaborating with multiple disciplines.

The role requires 2–5 years in aerospace engineering, strong CATIA V5/NX skills, and fluency in English or French (plus Spanish).

Qualifications

• College degree or equivalent in aeronautical or electrical engineering.
• 2–5 years in engineering, aerospace systems, structural design, or methods.
• Bilingual English or French, and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Strong knowledge of CATIA V5 and NX.
• Good knowledge of aircraft hardware and systems components.
• Familiarity with SAE, MIL-STD, AMS; FAR 25, AS50881 and Transport Canada/EASA regs.
• Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft 365, TeamCenter, PowerBI, Excel pivot tables.
• Willingness to collaborate across disciplines and drive EWIS standards initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Provide EWIS support to production line for all BA Sites including Queretaro.
• Develop expertise and promote standard component management across the organization.
• Provide technical information (BM9025) regarding standard components for Bombardier products.
• Plan and budget STD-EWIS activities and projects (VROM, ROM, DCPIA).
• Create/Release/Publish/Maintain 2D Bombardier Standards Specifications (B-STDs and S-STDs) in the PLM System.
• Maintain Standard part Catalogs in the PLM System.
• Production line support of BAPS 145 (EWIS) to all BA Sites including Queretaro.
• Support the development and document the Standards component management methodologies in the PLM system.
• Create/Maintain Part Masters in the PLM System.
• Enter/maintain standard component data in SAP.
• Work with SMEs from several disciplines to support qualification of standard components; weight/cost reduction initiatives.
• Collaborate with M&P to standardize work methodologies.
• Support Change Requests and Program Change Requests across Bombardier platforms.
• Propose innovations to improve and implement EWIS best practices.

What are your contributions to the team?

• Provide EWIS support to production line for all BA Sites including Queretaro to disposition issues associated with standard and standards component management
• Develop expertise and promote standard component management across the organization.
• Provide technical information (BM9025) regarding standard components to support all Bombardier products for:
  • Fasteners, Mechanical/Fluid Systems, EWIS – Electrical, Extrusions, Sheet metal,
• Plan and Budget STD-EWIS activities and projects. (VROM, ROM, DCPIA)
• Create/Release/Publish/Maintain 2D Bombardier Standards Specifications (B-STDs and S-STDs) in the PLM System
• Maintain Standard part Catalogs in the Bombardier CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) System.
• Production line support of BAPS 145 (EWIS) to all BA Sites including Queretaro. Release/Publish Bombardier Process Specification.
• Support the development and document the Standards component management methodologies in the Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) system.
• Create/Maintain Part Masters in the PLM System.
• Enter/maintain standard component data in SAP (Material Master).
• Work with subject matter experts (SME’s) from several disciplines to support the qualification of Standard components associated with product development, as well as weight and cost reduction initiatives.
• Work with Methods and Materials and Processes (M&P) to standardize work methodologies.
• Work with Quality, Logistics, Supply Chains as well as final assembly lines to support operational/production line activities: Change Requests (RFC), Program Change Requests (PCR) for all Bombardier platforms.
• Propose Innovation to improve and implement EWIS best practices across the company

How to thrive in this role?

• You hold a college degree or equivalent in aeronautical engineering or electrical engineering.
• You have at least 2 to 5 years of experience in engineering, aerospace systems, structural design, or methods.
• You are bilingual, English or French, and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• You have strong attention to detail and ability to interpret technical content across multiple engineering disciplines.
• You are flexible, curious, demonstrate initiative, good communicator and can facilitate discussions with professionals from all fields and backgrounds
• You have excellent knowledge and experience of CATIA V5 and NX (asset)
• You have a good knowledge of aircraft hardware and systems components used through all the zones of an aircraft.
• You have a good knowledge of industry and military standards, i.e., SAE, MIL-STD, AMS.
• You have a good knowledge of FAR 25, AS50881 and equivalent Transport Canada and EASA regulations.
• You have knowledge of SharePoint, Microsoft Office 365 suite, TeamCenter, PowerBI. and MS Excel pivot tables
• Technical knowledge of Bombardier Challenger and Global products is an asset.
