Job summary

Naturally Homegrown Foods, located in Surrey, BC, seeks hands-on team members for our production facility. You will support raw materials handling, packaging, labeling, sanitation, and GMP adherence in a fast-paced environment.

You will work as part of a small, friendly team that values quality and reliability. Starting wage is $20.38 per hour; Friday–Sunday 4pm-4am shifts; safety footwear required; background check required.

Qualifications

• Reliability and punctuality are essential.
• Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, bend, and lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Team-oriented and able to work well with others.
• Flexible and able to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic with attention to accuracy and quality.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Certifications in First Aid, Forklift, and/or Food Safety are an asset.

Responsibilities

• Prepare raw materials including chopping.
• Complete pre-assembly tasks such as stock assembly, belt setup, and box opening.
• Apply labels, collect materials, and assemble materials into packages/product cartons.
• Adhere to GMPs and maintain plant cleanliness throughout the day.
• Wrap skids up to 7 ft high and operate a pallet jack.
• Assemble/disassemble equipment as required.
• Clean scales and sanitation of equipment and work area.
• Perform other tasks as directed by Operations Manager or Production Supervisor.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Preparation of raw materials including chopping.
• Completion of pre-assembly work is not limited to stock assembly lines, set up belts, cut open boxes.
• Application of labels, collection of materials, assembling materials into packages/product cartons.
• Adhere to good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
• Ensure that the plant cleanliness is maintained throughout the day.
• Wrapping skids up to 7ft high.
• Operate pallet jack to move skids.
• Assemble/Disassemble equipment as required.
• Cleaning scales (requires bending/strenuous work).
• Sanitation of equipment and work area as assigned.
• Other tasks as assigned by Operations Manager and/or Production Supervisor.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must be reliable and punctual.
• Ability to perform under pressure and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, and lift 50 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to work well in a team environment.
• Highly flexible and ability to prioritize tasks with minimal supervision.
• Strong work ethic with a high regard for accuracy and quality.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• First Aid, Forklift and/or Food Safety certifications are an asset.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

• Must be able to work Friday-Sunday, 4pm-4am.
• This position requires successful completion of a clear background check..
• Steel Toed Safety Shoes are required, Personal Protective Equipment will be provided onsite.
• Starting wage is $20.38.
