Job description

Safely and efficiently producing MDF panels within parameters created for that specific product. A Production Technician is a crucial part of the operation with a great deal of responsibility in making product within specification, assuring quality, focus on machine efficiency to meet and or exceed our customer’s expectations. As a production technician, you may work in any of the areas around the mill.

Responsibilities

• Most technician positions run our process with human-machine interface (HMI) – control machinery through automated computer programs on a control panel.
• Complete daily rounds for all equipment in the area and complete preventative maintenance.
• Attend and actively participate in team business meetings.
• Assist team in making good business decisions.
• Perform quality inspections and document results.

Requirements

• Post-Secondary Education or 3 years of related work experience are preferred.
• Experience working in a manufacturing facility preferred.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts that support a 24/7 operation.
• Must have a valid G2 license.
• Excellent Safety work habits and knowledge, always wearing proper PPE.
• Seeking people with a positive attitude and behaviour.
• Ability to perform physical tasks that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, and carrying heavy objects, materials and equipment up to 50lbs.
• Ability to work from heights. Ability to move freely throughout the facility, including climbing stairs and ladders, and navigating around equipment and machinery.
• Ability to bend, stoop, and crouch as necessary to inspect and maintain equipment.
• Endurance to stand and walk for extended periods, often in environments with dust, chemicals, high noise levels and varying temperatures.

This position offers an attractive compensation package with a gain and profit-sharing plan, as well as an excellent Health/Dental and Pension Plan and very supportive team-based work environment. The starting rate of pay for the position is $58,855.00 per year plus shift premiums.
