Job Family Group : Technology

Member of a production support (7x24) team for a small number of mainframe applications; applications are COBOL CICS DB2 running online and a large nightly batch suite.

The team provides top tier second line support to production systems.

Calls for support are required for batch failures and online failures. Problems are investigated analyzed and solutions provided.

Solutions could include file or database patches changes to JCL emergency fixes to code.

Participate in project implementation and monitor application health; provide support for user demos as part of implementation.

Support project development teams during requirements and development providing necessary understanding of data and existing processes.

Support numerous external teams including data interfaces and user front ends.

Applies deep knowledge of applications data structures and code to provide high level of support.

Utilize available tools ensure standards are adhered to.

• Translates user needs into technical specifications by understanding conceptualizing and facilitating technical requirements from user.
• Analyzes develops tests and implements new software programs and documentation of entire software development life cycle execution.
• Performs preventative and corrective maintenance troubleshooting and fault rectification of system and core software components.
• Ensures that code / configurations adhere to the security logging error handling and performance standards and non-functional requirements.
• Evaluates new technologies for fit with the program / system / eco-system and the associated upstream and downstream impacts on process data and risk.
• Follows release management processes and standards and applies version controls.
• Assists in interpreting and documentation of client requirements.
• Focus is primarily on business / group within BMO; may have broader enterprise-wide focus.
• Exercises judgment to identify diagnose and solve problems within given rules.
• Works independently on a range of complex tasks which may include unique situations.
• Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.

Salary :

$61600.00 - $113900.00

Pay Type : Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Groups pay range and type.

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location skills experience education and qualifications for the role and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Groups expected target for the first year in this position.
