Job summary

J.D. Irving, Limited’s Doaktown Sawmill is seeking a motivated Production Support associate. You will provide general labour support to production teams across the Doaktown Sawmill, Planermill, and Value-Added lines, with shifts including overnights.

This role emphasizes safe work practices, hard work, and teamwork; candidates must be prepared for 9-hour shifts, nights and weekends, and basic lifting and cleaning tasks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent is required.
• Previous labour experience is an asset.
• Must be a self-starter and a team player.
• Experience in a sawmill or production/manufacturing setting is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide general labour support to production teams.
• Promote and follow safe work practices.
• Assist with cleaning up and material handling/lifting.
• Work across Doaktown Sawmill, Planermill and Value-Added lines.
• Be prepared for 9-hour shifts, including nights and weekends.
• Perform other general labour tasks as required.

A leader in the Maritime Forest Products Industry, the Doaktown Sawmill is currently seeking a motivated individual to fill the position of Production Support.

Being a part of the Production Support team means your primary responsibility is to provide general labour support to the production teams while ensuring the safe and continued operation of the Doaktown Sawmill, Planermill, and Value-Added lines. The ideal candidate for this role will understand that this position will include shifts that can operate overnight.

Responsibilities

• Commit to and promote the use of safe practices
• Cleaning up
• Handling and lifting materials
• Must be hard working with a strong work ethic
• Position will require minimum 9 hr. shifts and may include night and weekend shifts
• Other general labour responsibilities
