The Production Supervisor I is an entry‑level role that provides on‑the‑job training and coaching to develop into a Production Supervisor II. The successful candidate will assist the Production Supervisor II with day‑to‑day operations, including employee performance, machine efficiency, and improvement initiatives to enhance productivity. The role requires a structured training program focused on Standard Operating Procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices, and the pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities
  • Coordinate shift changeover, ensuring machinery and human resources are optimal and reporting any deficiencies promptly.
  • Ensure availability of components and supplies and maintain a clean and organized production area.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the production floor, resolving production/output issues.
  • Assist with monitoring job duties to ensure that all pertinent SOPs are followed and all activities are documented properly.
  • Work with the Production Supervisor II to issue, investigate, and rectify Quality Assurance deviations, including revising SOPs and correcting documentation.
  • Co‑operate with other departments and participate in cross‑departmental activities.
  • Serve as a resource to educate and train direct reports on the Safety Program, holding employees accountable for safety rules and regulations.
  • Support Employee Relations activities, including performance reviews, improvement initiatives, disciplinary action, and conflict resolution.
  • Coordinate new employee training and support training requirements for production staff.
  • Ensure GMP and regulatory requirements are met and maintain quality standards.
  • Complete Batch Record Reviews and daily shift reports for output, efficiency, downtime, and other required metrics.
  • Model Company Mission, Vision, and Values Statements, policies, and current standard business practices.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
  • University degree in a Science or Engineering related discipline.
Experience
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and build positive relationships with team members.
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to delegate and work within interdepartmental teams.
  • Excellent customer service and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to motivate and influence others.
  • Proven analytical and problem‑solving skills with the ability to make recommendations.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Must be able to attend all shifts.
