Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage day-to-day completion of production orders as per production schedule.
- Identify opportunities for improvement and better efficiencies.
- Along with Quality Assurance, review, maintain and improve Safe Quality Food System (SQF).
- Performs routine plant walks.
- Reporting – shift reports, waste reports, time / attendance, inspections, work orders and other administrative requirements
- Lead weekly safety talks / huddles.
- Train new hires and re-train legacy employees.
- Ensure food safety remains high priority and is an ambassador for a food-safe culture
- Provides suggestions for equipment purchase / process changes.
- Other duties as required
Qualifications
- 5+ years previous supervisory experience in food processing, manufacturing or other highly regulated industry.
- Previous experience working with HACCP and GFSI (SQF or BRC) requirement.
- Attention to detail.
- Must think quickly on feet and handle stress well.
- Must be an excellent communicator – both written and verbal.
- Must be able to troubleshoot discrepancies and explain in a clear and easy to understand way.
- Must be a leader and drive enforcement of policies.
- Must have acceptable computer skills and be technologically inclined.
- Change management and business development skills.
